Your spelling and grammar aren't that good either. It's "bear" instead of "bare" and there are many other mistakes. Quit being a message board grammar Nazi if you can't even walk the walk yourself.

Secondly, Jordan may have valid reasons for his lack of development, but fans also have valid reasons for wanting to see him traded. We have enough power forwards that already know the game and don't require the time and energy of a project. Where does that leave Hill in our future plans? As our backup center once we acquire a real starting center? It's going to take quite awhile for Hill to even become a suitable backup C--partly because it's not his natural position and partly because of the muscle mass he needs to put on to play the part. Maybe some people just don't see "Project Jordan Hill" as worth the investment. My inclination is that the Rockets organization falls into that boat and are going to try to trick someone into trading for him. Doesn't mean they deserve some self-righteous speech about not having the patience to help him grow.

Micheal Cage - No - sorry that was just a long "jerrycurl"... In his prime one of the best defenders and rebounder... We could use some like him now...

considering he draws around 10 fouls a game you must spend quite a lot of time putting your hand over your face.

When Morey aquired him in the 3 team trade with sac and NY boy did i have high hopes, sky high for that matter. He was the 9th pick in the draft and had tremendous upside coming into this year. He has a big 6'10'' frame and isnt afraid to take it to the rack.

It came to a point were i wasnt so worried about Yao's nagging injuries as i felt J.Hill could grow and take over the starting 5 spots earlier than expected (i have given up on our shanghai giant). Im playing the waiting game, he'll either blow right up and make a scene or stay hot and cold on regular basis.

Don't have a clue what Jordan Hill's upside is. Or if he even has one. But here are some things I do know.

    1) Jordan Hill is almost exactly 4 years younger than Chuck Hayes.
    2) Hayes and Hill both played approximately the same number of minutes as rookies. The minutes were back-end loaded for Hill who couldn't get off of D'Antoni's bench.
    3) Until relatively recently, Chuck Hayes struggled to score in a gym by himself and most Rockets fans had a "sense of dread" aura every time he went to the FT line.

Personally, I don't see Chuck Hayes as a starting C on a WC powerhouse. And Hill may never ascend to that level either. But if you're time horizon differs dramatically for each, and you ignore that Hayes played next to a healthy Yao and with a healthy Grady, then there is a good chance you are placing too much emphasis on hustle. And ignoring potential upside. Or the fact that Hill looked a whole lot better at PF with a healthy Brad Miller.

Verdict on Hill is still out IMHO.

honestly hill just needs to grow a pair of nuts and quit being self conscious and trying to play super careful...it really looks like he's tip toeing out there which is ridiculously weak.

His biggest problem is his court awareness. It's like he cannot focus on more than one thing at a time. If he's covering his man, he loses sense of where he is on the court, and when he's playing the paint, he loses his man. Same thing on offense, when he gets the ball one-on-one hes very effective, and has shown glimpses of brilliance in post moves. However, when he gets the ball in the high post to pass the ball, it takes him an eternity to move the ball.

I'm not sure if this is something he can learn on the fly, or if he's just a slow learner.

Put it simply, hill doesnt have the strength to defend. He needs to beef up..bigger players will jst back into him and score and get in position easily. Even chuck hayes is pretty strong and did better than him on dwight howard. hayes probably has a linebacker's strength. hill doesn't..he seems more worried abt how his jerry curl looks than gaining more strength and roughing it up in the paint.

    I Finally Give Up......

....On Jordan Hill! I know this is late, but I worked last night and just finished watching last night's game on DVR. I had to rewind to make sure I saw what i thought I saw. He got a dunk blocked by Brian effin Cook! No hands, no footwork, can't play D without fouling, too small, but slow at the same time....

Who's project is this? Official "BUST"

Thank You Daryl Morey. Are we trading or releasing him?

I too had high hopes for him, but he's a fundamental disaster. He doesn't block out, rotate, set good screens, shoot consistently, or close out on shooters.

He has the physical tools to be good. but he's not, he's terrible.

The plus minus is not a perfect stat, it's flawed, so i don't rely on it too much, but hill's plus-minus is shocking when you look at it

Rockets with a negative plus minus

    Budinger -6
    Lee -22
    Smith -38
    Brooks -47
Jordan Hill -159 (NOT A MISPRINT)

Adjusted plus-minus (a more reliable measure)

    Scola -0.19
    Hayes -0.83
    Miller - 2.89
    Brooks -4.99
    Martin -5.93
Hill -16.87 (again not a misprint)

By comparison Chuck Hayes adjusted +/- over the last 2 years is a + 5.00

The rockets need to get something for him while they can, he shouldn't be in an nba rotation.
