Same sitch last GSW game. We were up 6 when Green came in for Josh. We lost by 2. The one game where Green sat out in the 4th qtr, we actually won. (utah)
He's definitely the best rookie at the moment. His development is going great, two way player that can defend, score, shoot, pass, is unselfish and communicates like a vet on the court. It's not hard to see that he's going to get a lot better with time. If he's playing good defense, hitting open shots and making good passes as a rookie, that means he's definitely going places. I really think he'll be a big PG eventually. Needs to work on his handle and passing a bit more, but he has exactly the right character to be a PG. All 4 of our rookies are going to be great players, we better not Presti this up.
He is actually quite under control with layups and shots in the paint. It's funny because Christopher was so bad to begin the season, now he has a adequate layup package around the rim. Meanwhile Green continues to do the same thing and gets blocked
Sorry, just giving you a hard time. I do think Nix and Queen are being overlooked in a lot of posts. I think those 2 have earned a look and that the Rockets bench will play better when they get PT on the NBA team.
Not sure if anyone else mentioned this. But Josh reminds me a lot of Donovan Mitchell. The build, the movement, the playmaking, the slashing. Just the well-rounded skill set. I’m not sure if Josh will ever reach Mitchell’s scoring ability. But I think a fringe all-star averaging 18-5-5 could ultimately be his ceiling. (On a separate note, what Donovan Mitchell did as a rookie doesn’t get talked about enough. Came in averaging 20 points as the number one option for a playoff team. Led them to the second round as well upsetting OKC. Seeing how much time and development our own rookies need, it’s just insane what Mitchell accomplished.)
Mitchell was 20 years old when he was drafted. Hit 21 right around pre-season. Was still very young. Only a year difference between Josh.
Mitchell has good tools and makes tough shots, but he actually has the worst +/- numbers of any of the Jazz starters. I'm not sure what it is about his game, but there is something off about him compared to the truly elite. I think it may be that his lack of size prevents him from getting a lot of easy shots. JC wouldn't have that problem at least.
I got it from basketball ref. He's behind Ingles too. Somewhat close with O'Neale and Bogdanovic. I can never remember who starts for them now.
I’m hoping his summer league performance was really just him working on his offensive bag.. and he doesn’t start playing like that in the regular season.
