The big news today is the guy that caught for killing that healthcare CEO, but I bet if that wasn't the hot topic now - the Jay-Z lawsuit would be.

I'm just going to say straight up that I never believed the allegations about Deshaun. He was not acting responsibly but the timing and the fact that they would've never come to light had he paid the first accuser never seemed right to me. Now Buzbee's practice of sending demand letters to celebrities for poorly vetted, slanderous allegations will get more scrutiny because Jay-Z is fighting back. He rightly told Buzbee to go file a criminal complaint, not a civil one. None of Buzbee's cases would ever withstand scrutiny in the court of law.

Also, another new detail has been revealed by Front Office Sports. How much Deshaun Watson paid to settle with the first group of accusers which was a group of 20 women:

Doing the math each of those women got about $10K a piece minus whatever Buzbee kept for himself.

Why is this crap here in the Texans forum? It has nothing to do with football related stuff of that POS from Cleveland.

10k a pop. Why didn't he pay off everyone earlier? I am pretty sure his lawyers probably cost more than that.

LOL at more scrutiny on the allegations. Maybe if he were a starting caliber quarterback in the NFL. The only thing that will continue to get scrutiny is his ridiculous contract, which he was able to get irrespective of the veracity of the allegations.

He banged a bunch of massage women he met online or through contacts. Some were working ho's, some were ho's, and some probably just felt pressured. He never was charged by a grand jury (and DA's tried twice) of illegally raping anyone, but it was bad press. Whatever he is/was, perv, predator, kink, or all of the above, it was an issue that harmed his team and harmed a lot of women. Of course, women have their own agency, and a lot of them were probably gold diggers, and so is Buzbee, but that's the world. I do tend to believe that one married girl who refused to settle. I believe that she hated it from the start and felt pressured. Now, how much of that pressure feeling means that Watson is civilly liable for something? Who knows? He probably wasn't doing criminal things since grand juries indict almost anyone, but he put his perversions at the risk of harming the team, and he might be a good teammate otherwise, but he screwed up.

Agreed that it's also weird to be in this forum. To bring it back to Texans, as frustrating as watching them can be, my goodness did we get lucky getting rid of Watson at the right time.

Considering no one but Watson and the accuser(s) know what actually happened, I get that there are devils advocates. But, with the sheer volume of encounters/allegations, there's just no way I could ever co-sign on any pro-Watson arguments. I mean, I get it. These "therapists" were ultimately paid a relatively small amount of compensatory damages and it does look strange. I don't even believe they were therapists, if I'm being honest. I think they were likely sex workers. But the fact that the situation existed, sorry, EXISTS STILL is so troubling and such a damning indictment on the character of Watson. No matter what happened...rape, no rape...consential or forced... he's reprehensible for his actions. Best case (for him) he ran through a bunch of money hungry equally reprehensible women while being the face of the franchise and involved in a relationship. Pigs play in slop, right? That's... not good. Not illegal, but definitely not good.

True men don't act that way. There's no way to wash that shitstain off.

No doubt. Every time I get a craigslist massage and force her finger up my ass, it costs me 5/6 figures after I talk to my lawyer for a bit.

    Standard massage practices.
