The James Harden Shoot Too Many Free Throws Thread

    Another added benefit that is often overlooked about him doing what he can to get to the line is that it sets our defense for the next possession.

    yeah, but when he doesn't get the whistle sometimes it's a 100% turnover since there's no way he makes the basket from the awkward position he gets in.

    I think that's just the price you have to pay for the strategy. From what I see watching this team, it's worth the 1-2 times per game average this happens.

    Good point, I hadn't thought of that. So when Harden drives the lane, 1 of 4 things can happen. 1. He loses the ball-TO. 2. He scores & scrambles back on defense. 3. He gets fouled, goes to the line & our defense's able to set up. 4. He gets an & 1 and our defense's able to set up.

    So 75% of the time, Harden driving the lane is a good thing. Where's the problem? OK, before someone mentions it, You can't run the same play 100% of the time. Used in the flow of the game, it works.
