We just played them last night. A you can see, he is a completely different player than he was in his first game last year as a rookie. Number 1 pick in the draft.

All jokes aside. Wow. What a stat line for MCW in his first game. 9 steals!

This backcourt and Team really needs 1 good month to play together.

Even James Harden and Chris Paul said themselves when they first played together they needed time to play off each other.

Good results will come. Jalen Green will shine. Jalen is very impressive as a passer. Getting Theis 3 Dunks for 3 Assists.

I think he should run Point Guard when KPJ sits. Jalen also can create his own shot, create reverse layups in the air.

Jalen Green can definitely be a Point Guard

Rockets need to play Armoni, KJ and Matthew Hurt more.

Rockets need spacing and 3 Point Shooters around Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun.

    The paint was really crowded

I know many will preach patience (understandably) but it WAS underwhelming... I mean, yes some legends' first games weren't awesome (Jordan 16 pts 5/16, Kobe 0 pts 0/1, Harden 5 pts) but some WERE (Olajuwon 24 pts 11/18, Iverson 30 pts 12/19, LeBron 25 pts 12/20). I'm not saying this stat can predict the trajectory of their entire career but can't fault fans for wanting something amazing

My concern is not with the players its with the coaching staff not giving the young guys the chance to develop. There is zero reason that Sengun should be coming off the bench on this team. There's zero reason that shooters like brooks and Kmj should not be getting minutes over Augustin, tate and definietly nwaba. There's no reason that josh christopher should be not getting minutes on this team especially because he's clearly shown he's NBA ready. Its ridiculous they are going to need time but first they need a chance. I dont like all of the one on one play thats part of why Green seems frustated. His youth and poor shooting are part of it but he's used to having more of a system. So is Sengun, you can see the sheer shock on his face when guys dont cut when he has the ball ready to pass thats bad coaching. Silas will be our biggest problem.

Just for some clarification. Iverson and Hakeem came into the league after the age of 20. Their bodies were further along in development. LeBron is the anomoly. Nut he's LeBron arguably the second greatest ever.

No one is faulting anyone for wanting them to be great right away in truth we all want that. Its the people who are already saying Green is a bust that are the problem.

Jalen Green is not expected to be a legend…his most likely high end outcome is literally Zach Lavine, aka a good player that can make some All-Star games but isn’t a franchise player or superstar

Was Harden expected to be a legend? His high end outcome is definitely higher than Lavine. Lavine his rookie year didn't have the same level of ball handling as Green.

This is who I compared him to and Zach took awhile to come around.

BTW though Zach can still become a superstar. He's knocking at the door. He has the ppg all he needs is playoff success.

anyone can bring up outliers like Harden…fact of the matter is Jalen Green is not some generational prospect or expected legendary player, and if that’s what people are holding him to, then no wonder there’s all this crying going on right now

maybe…I can’t ever see him being considered a borderline top 10 player or anything like that tho

One can say his floor his JR Smith and his ceiling is really undetermined. There is a world we're Green definitely can be better than Lavine.

My expectation didn't generational player. But to say it has a near zero percent chance is writing him off too early.

Yeah, turns out not simping for Green after a really poor performance is "trolling" in the eyes of some.

Unless this kid turns things around soon, it's going to be a REALLY long season.

It was going to be long season regardless.

No one should expect any rook to to magically be an All Star caliber player first season in NBA.

    Growing pains are normal.

Oh I'm okay with the team going through growing pains as their players grow up and get a bit of experience under their belt, that's acceptable....superfans losing their minds when players look awful and then face light criticism is not.

and most likely he isn’t any better than Lavine or a Bradley Beal, and that should be the expectation…those guys aren’t scrubs, they are just high level scorers that aren’t superstar level

people bringing up the debuts of guys like Hakeek and Lebron in comparison to Green, stop it
