I would like to see Green and Porter slash to the rim as cutters off the ball. Lob dunks. I see House, Tate, Gordon slashing more.....but practically no cutting by Porter/Green. Right now they are going strictly by the book. Loosen up. Ad lib some. Passes are going to go out of bounds anyway as they say when they should've zigged. It's time they open things up. Rockets are facing one of the toughest schedules in the first 20 games. Let's start adjusting for an easier mid November to late December.
You are correct Apache! That is definitely a thought I've had multiple times throughout these 1st 4 games when Green is headed to the corner. Go for the cut or lob.
We need to clarify how exactly the status changes. Jalen crosses over his defender and gets by him = Experiment is On! ... But then he misses the layup = Experiment is Off!
Well it changes game to game! Preseason and first two games = experiment is off! (See, see I told you he sucks! We should have took Mobley or Suggs or Barnes or whoever!) Celtics game = experiment is on! (See, see, I told you he would be great! Where are the haters at now?!) Mavs game = experiment is off! And others who just upset about the lack of free throws. “It’s Stephen Silas’ fault! No coaching! No system! Terrible HC! Not putting Jalen in position to succeed!” “It’s Kevin Porter Jr.’s fault! Not the right fit!” “It’s Christian Wood’s fault! Selfish! Not a PointForward!” (PRE)WAS: 28 minutes, 4-14 (0-6 3pt), 4-6 FT, 12 pts, 6 reb, 2 ast (PRE)MIA: 28 minutes, 6-15 (4-9 3pt), 4-4 FT, 20 pts, 5 reb, 2 ast, 3 stl (PRE)TOR: 25 minutes, 2-6 (1-5 3pt), 5 pts, 4 reb, 4 ast (PRE)SA: 32 minutes, 4-12 (1-6 3pt), 7-8 FT, 16 pts, 0 reb, 1 ast MIN: 32 minutes, 4-14 (1-6 3pt), 9 pts, 4 reb, 4 ast OKC: 26 minutes, 4-11 (1-5 3pt), 9 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast BOS: 36 minutes, 11-18 (8-10 3pt), 30 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast DAL: 36 minutes, 4-16 (2-9 3pt), 10 pts, 5 reb, 1 ast Didn’t get to the FT line in the G League (2.3 FTA), didn’t rebound(4.1), didn’t assist(2.8), was never mentioned as some (good) defender, so should I be surprised now? (6’4 SG so I don’t really care as much about the rebounds and assists) He was billed as a scorer, bucket getter, put the ball in the basket and he’s having just a bit of trouble early on, off to a slow start (despite playing against “GROWN ASS MEN!” in the G League). So like I said, sit back, buckle in, and enjoy the rollercoaster! (and the “I told you so’s” from both sides)
Not surprising that the rookie that's older than Booker, Tatum, Luka, Trae, etc is the most NBA ready. In the same vein, the 19 year Olds should have a bit more leeway to grow.
Jalen is not going to win roy with the amount of touches he gets.. 4th is better than I was expecting to be honest. Sengun should be on the list too, but we all know what the deal is.
Mobley only player with a positive vorp, the only 1st rd pick that has played over 15 total minutes with a positive BPM, also the highest win share amongst all 1st rd pick who has played over 15 total minutes. Impressive, maybe? idk
It looks impressive. He looks the most NBA ready out of any prospect. Granted we havent really seen Cade yet. Honestly @D-rock was right to be bullish about Mobley. I think Green is gonna take 2-3 years to really get to where we want him to. Mobley looks Lamelo ready. Edit:Also Scottie Barnes looks awesome as well.
pretty damn impressive to be honest. but just by eye test he is playing really smart effective NBA basketball. Seems like there isn't that big of a transition for him. He's contesting every shot he can, grabbing rebounds, and not trying to force too much on offense. He's still really raw there. By contrast Green looks and plays like a rookie. He will have little flashes here and there, and when his 3 pointers fall they look good. Other than that he just looks like a skinny rookie getting bulllied when he drives. He also seem to miss layups even when he does speed past the defense. He is still getting used to everything, speed, strength, contact etc.
Mobley looks impressive, but he is also lucky to have good guards that can pass to him. If the Pistons drafted him, he will have a hard time with Killian Hayes as PG
Wow, did he really say that? Killian Hayes is in the Jarrett Culver, Frank Ntilikina tier of mid-lotto picks…absolutely horrible player
The ninja turtle that pads his stats during the game is mad at a player on the other team for padding his stats towards the end of the game?
