Honestly Jalen is wide open on most of those shots...that would be the first place to start fixing that shot.... DD
Not sure if we blew anything. Seems like we just got two projects in Green and Sengun who could just end up being average NBA rotations players. I always thought Clutchfans have unrealistic expectations when it comes to picks over the years. Everyone just think everyone we draft will turn into a star, whether it's Chandler Parsons, Budinger, Marcus Morris, now Sengun and Green. But the reality is half of the players in a single draft become nothing, and a few become average rotational players, and 3-4 actually become all stars. I predict that over the next couple of years, we will have random players turnout to be stars, while other more hyped prospects turn out to be m mediocre. Happens with every franchise, we just have been winning too much in the past 2 decades that we don't know how to act.
Expectations for the #2 pick should be nothing less than a star player. Anything less is a disappointment and bust. This should be obvious and shouldn’t even need to be said. What the heck are we tanking for otherwise?
Having a high pick simply increases your odds of getting a good player, when has it ever been a guarantee. I mean did the Bucks fire their entire front office after drafting Jabari Parker? If you actually followed rebuilding teams or tanking teams you will know that the draft is a crap shoot, having more picks just increases your odds of hitting on something eventually. You and others acting like a total spazz due after one year of drafting is just weird. There's no instant gratifications in rebuilding. Obviously it's disappointing to miss, but that's just part of the game.
When is the last time Green made anything that wasn't a three pointer or a layup? I need to see mid-range and floaters from him, that's how you become an elite scorer. I want him to take more of those in-between shots.
This this a MILLION times this.....and the crux of why I am less than impressed if all he becomes is a good player - than we blew it. DD
Nothing in life is guaranteed. However there is still accountability for mistakes, that’s why Vlade is no longer the gm in Sacromento.
Yes and yes. We knew already before the draft that he had holes in his game, bad D, half empty bag. I think some scouts even said his handles were not tight. Scoring only with questionable 3 point mechanics. It was a big risk Stone was more than willing to take for a team that had virtually nothing going for itself.
Earlier in the year he had difficulties getting his shot off because he was closely guarded and his shooting motion is easily disrupted. Now he seems to be a lot quicker, unfortunately he can't yet shoot with his new form. I think after summer we will see where this goes. If there's no improvement in either shooting form or efficiency, we can start to worry. Not many people change their motion mid season and get great results.
Yup. The same front office that picked Giannis in 2013 also picked Jabari Parker in 2014. Maybe this isn't just about skill but mostly about luck. Besides that, we still don't know what any of the rookies on our team will be. What i do know however, is that we have accumulated a lot of talent in just 1 and a half years of rebuilding.
Big risk over sure thing. Yeah lets go with that. Seems like a logical choice. Err. Still rooting Green.
A million times this. The Rockets missed the 2021 draft and will need to hit in 2022. The game is the game.
Why is it an expectation when data tells us otherwise? High hope, sure. The NBA draft lottery has always been a high risk gamble.
