To Jacoby's defense .... He is usually the hot receiver... Unfortunately he only only knows one route on a hot read...Fly pattern!!!... We all know Schaub gets scared when pressured and throws off his back foot or tries to sidestep leading to his pathetic scramblimg attempts... Alot of his throws to Jacoby were reactions to the pressure and he short armed them... Though the defenders would've been called for multiple P.I's if it wasnt "Make sure Al gets honored with a win" day by the NFL, they essentially were bailout calls that werent gettin called...

I'm talking about the scheme. Wes Welker in New England isn't dependent on a deep threat drawing defenders off him, neither are their TEs dependent on Welker.

Dallas has Austin and Bryant both able to thrive if the other is out.

I'm not complaining about the scheme, either. Just saying it breaks down in a huge way if we don't have a stretch receiver. Daniels is maybe the only guy that can consistently get open if AJ isn't around, if you don't count guys coming out of the backfield to the flats.

I'm also wondering if bigger adjustments to the scheme need to be made when Andre is absent. Inserting Jacoby and running the same plays is a trainwreck. I feel we need to move back to more of a West Coast passing game. Too bad Casey's hurt - he'd help tremendously there.

I'd try more screen plays to open up Walter instead of targeting Jacoby 1-on-1 as much as Schaub did. Walter has sure hands and with our trio of tight end duo + Casey, they should be able to set pretty good screens to open him up.

I think Jacoby has the ability to take WR screens to the house... I would use him in an assortment of screens... Maybe a gadget play..

it would take if 5 seconds to start running like he does with his punt returns.

This I agree with. That's exactly what happens when AJ misses time, pretty much every time.

If he's supposed to be a speedster why does it look like he can't get any separation on his routes? WR screens usually are a mess too, he doesn't have the strength to break tackles like AJ, and it's not like anyone's giving him cushion to take advantage of any space. The only play left for him is the end-around.

Catching that punt over the shoulder was incredibly stupid too. That's at least two times where he should've let the punt go but downs it inside the 10. I also find it funny that he's usually mad after a punt return, like he doesn't realize he just wasted valuable seconds and yardage by standing still.
