Eh...dude got passed over by numerous teams before a desperate Titan team signed him. Knee probably is still not right...might still be better though.

We should of had at least 3 PI's because the defender was mauling him... But yeah he's done....

You'd never know he was such a hard worker by watching him play. The guy looks scared to even be out there. He's actually regressed in the passing game.

He tries too hard to "fake" things. I can predict his returns by now. Always waits and throws a fake. Not sure what he tried to do earlier today when he faked what seemed to be a pass?? He needs to just GO. Same with receiving. He wasnt quick enough where he had to be. On that last int he also seemed to again hesitate instead of continuing to go, although it was a bad throw as well.

He's becoming a bad Kevin Martin. He was trying to draw a flag too much instead of trying to catch the ball.

I was looking at the last interception
    Jacoby made a mistake there

I dunno if it is a rule
    but
I have often heard . . . . IF YOU QB is scrambling. . you COMEBACK for the ball
he seemed to be heading to the back of the endzone

Not to put all the blame on him . . . Schaub did throw a bit of a lame duck
but . .. he should have been coming back for the ball

Schaub made a poor throw, but Jacoby made virtually no attempt to get open. He just stood there, left Matt out to dry. Matt's biggest mistake was not just chucking the ball away to begin with. But ffs, Jacoby, KEEP MOVING!

Can we please move this ever-so-slightly - Kevin Walter is an above-average #2. What we don't have is a competent third option. Four years in and Jacoby is still (IMO) a lazy route runner and lacks basic football instincts.

The DB was in front of him; he can't comeback for the ball. (Plus, there was limited space and he has to stay in the end zone, obviously.) The proper play there is to run *away* from the defender, create space. No one was behind him - run to the pylon. Run with your QB, too - he seemed to be running to Schaub's right (IIRC) as Schaub rolled left.

BUT... that was on Schaub. Poor pass and even poorer decision to create a play when your first three options were convered. He should have thrown that into the second deck and run another play. He panicked.

I just watched the play again..... and then threw up. All on Schaub; I relieve JJ of any responsibility. Schaub waited too long. He pump faked, which was wholly unnecessary, and it cost him valuable seconds as JJ was open at that moment. Had he thrown instead, that's probably 6. Also, WTF did Walter sit? He should have kept coming and run to space behind JJ. Had he done it, I think it's another easy 6. Also, not sure why Schaub veered left - I know it was to buy some time - but it's not like the DB was right on him - he had 8 yards between them. Schaub had time to stop and plant. Blergh.

    completely agreed. just awful execution.

to the point of the thread...WR is a position that has needed help for some time. It's AJ and then everyone else...and the everyone else ain't so hot.

he can finish out his contract, but he should be doing it as a 3rd and more likely 4th.

Time to start checking out the WR in the upcoming draft.

Jacoby Jones is a mediocre receiver. He's fine if he's WR3, going against the nickelback, but he can't go against CB1 or CB2. Here's my problem with the whole game, though. If I'm Matt Schaub, and I have no one open, I'm going to Walter, and letting him make a play, not Jacoby Jones. Walter might not can get separation on everyone, but the dude can catch. He's not Andre, but I trust him a lot more than Jones, Anderson, Dreesen, Casey, or Vickers.

Unfortunately he was resigned just this past year for 3 years at 10.5 million.

So he's our little battlefighter until 2014!

I'm curious how much of his contract is incentive based. I know he got the $3.5 guaranteed, but I wonder what he's base salary is without bonus.

I still remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard we re-signed him this year. I thought for sure this would be the year we'd finally give up on him.

That was pretty much our only bad move this offseason...

I disagree, simply because I've never seen him do much out of the slot other than drop passes. He doesn't get YAC when he has open field, he cant use his speed to spread the field because Shaub only looks for Andre Johnson deep. He's okay in the slot, but among the leagues worst IMO.

His routes are extremely sloppy and when he makes his final break, it always looks like he loses his balance for a split second and can't recover to make a good play on the ball. He's awful!
