The winner of this presidential election will have the power to appoint 1 or 2 supreme court justices... enough to sway any legislation presented to the court over to the right (Roe v. Wade). Paul Ryan stated last night that if he and Romney were elected, a woman's right to an abortion would be taken away. His basis for this ideology is his Catholic faith, a faith not shared by all Americans. Now, i remember asking last week if a true Christian would believe in universal healthcare, and the belief that we as Christians should help the less fortunate. The response i got from everyone was this, "It is up to the free will of the people to follow the will of God. It should not be forced on them by government". If you are not willing to follow universal healthcare in accordance to Christian beliefs, then what makes the forcing of this issue on the American people any different?

Not bashing anyone's beliefs. But seeing as how they are going to approach this from a non-religious viewpoint, they are basically saying that abortion is murder... however, there will be the incentive that rape victims or incest cases are exceptions. How can we establish this double standard legally? Seems a bit contradictory when you look at it from either viewpoint: Religious or secular.

    Ditto.

It's more about when you believe life begins. I'm even against abortion on rape.

Love how religion still dictates laws. Makes sense to base our lives around fairy tails that have been changed/adjusted when beneficial.

In the farthest reaches of the multiverse, there is a bean. One day, possibly a billion years from now, this bean will grow into a giant baby that will destroy all the women in the universe.

    Prove that isn't true.

    no he didn't

Overturning Roe v Wade just sends the issue back to the states.

Not about forcing the issue, it's about protecting the rights of the unborn.

If it goes back to the states it will take a the right for a woman to choose in several states. So yes, he did.

Do we really need another ****ing abortion thread? Give me a break. The last thread of several dozen pages not enough? Do a search and quit cluttering up the forum, please. This issue has already been covered... again and again and again and again. And again some more.

You aren't a moderator, Deckard. If the mods want to delete the thread, they can -- that is their right. But you don't have that right. You should just stay out of the thread if you don't like it. You're not in charge here.
