Too bad Morey didn't want to keep him around to develop him.

If the Rox tried and didnt get him then its not their fault Minny didnt want to give Roco up at the time. How is that a fail Morey doesnt have a trade override button he cant get other teams to agree if they dont want to.

Let's not forget letting this dude go (Hassan Whiteside for the kids who don't know):

Some very poor, questionable moves in recent years. Don't know any other GM who gets as much credit and slack as Morey does for not having accomplished anything.

We do a lousy job of recognizing young players......

We have lost Whiteside, Covington, overpaid for Lin, let Livingston walk, Demar Caroll, James Johnson.....

I mean we don't develop crap, and sign NOBODIES....and let quality NBA talent just walk...then overpay to get them back.

Our evaluation model SUCKS BALLS !

He was good right away in Philly, just check out his three point attempts per game and shooting percentages, he was basically the same player he is today, with better knees, better shooting, more athleticism and a lot quicker in his youth. Did I mention a better contract too!!

At least he still has long arms;)

Morey must RECOGNIZE if he's bringing them in... but he cant force the coaches to handout roster spots and play those guys.

It's irrelevant whether we had Covington in the past, only whether the trade makes sense now. If you know a stock is a good investment, you should buy it. It doesn't matter if you bought and sold the same stock 6 years ago. Sure, you can argue that you could have held onto the stock for 6 years. But in those 6 years you probably used the money on stuff that you wanted.

Naaaah. You think Morey was bringing in Charlie Ward or Bobby Jackson because they were Morey guys? He had to trade Rafer Alston just to get Aaron Brooks on the court.

They work together but if Morey is not strong enough to be the boss, then he shouldn't be the GM.

We signed TSquid and drafted Royce White of all people in search for talent that can handle the ball.

That's not irony - this is some G-D irony:

    Rockets acquired Covington in 2013
Capela made Covington obsolete in 2014
Capela made Howard obsolete in 2015
Westbrook made Capela obsolete in 2019
Covington traded for Capela in 2020

DM's greatest accomplishment is being a magician hustler, he is the incompetent guy at the office who gets put in charge of all kinds of projects, has all these meetings, but the performance of the projects always sucks, and nobody ever holds him accountable. DM could sell ice cubes to the Eskimos! The Rockets should have multiple championships by now if DM was actually a good GM in this league given the Superstars he has been blessed with as a GM in the NBA.
