That won't ever happen. As a d lineman or blitzing linebacker there's no way you could get to the qb in time for a screen or bubble. They just catch and throw. The more people you bring, the more you will get owned by the short pass
At the risk of sounding like a biased fanboy... I haven't been really impressed with Schaub since he's been with the Texans. But I recently checked his stats, and I must say that I should be more appreciative of this guy. MATT SCHAUB: ranked 6th in QB rating ranked 9th in Comp/Att Pct ranked 2nd in total yards tied for 6th place in Passing Avg. Yards ranked 4th in avg. yards/game ranked 1st in touchdowns ranked 4th in passing 1st downs tied for 8th in passing 1st down pct. tied for 8th in passing long ranked 2nd in 20+ yard pass plays tied for 2nd in 40+ yard pass plays He ranks in the top 10 in almost every category. That's pretty durned good.
He's been very good, no doubt about it. DD thinks he sucks...but he still thinks Vgina is an NBA player. Go figure.
I thought he sucked, too, honestly. But after looking at the numbers, I think I had a bit of a change of heart.
Schaub is only 2 td's away from equaling the team record for passing td's in a season (16 by Carr in 2004) in 6 games. His current pace (37) would have him more than doubling that this season.
Matt Schaub is one of the reasons I'm winning fantasy football matches. You guys have to realize that his numbers include that one game against OAK where the Texans ran almost the entire second half. He's been very money. Part of it is the ineptitude of our run offense though.
I love Matt Schaub. I think the guy certainly still has limitations, to be sure, but there are only 2, maybe 3 QBs in the league that I wouldn't be able to say that about. I think his stellar play to date has made people forget his tendency the last two seasons to get hurt. I'm fine with that because I personally don't think he is brittle, just a bit unlucky the least two years. But if he gets hurt again this year and misses more than a couple games, people will turn on him once again, numbers or no numbers. I also think that Schaub's limitations are hidden unbelievably well by the teams passing design and play calling, something that I think mini-Shanahan and Kubiak probably don't get enough credit for.
