I'm starting the "I hate every coach of the Rockets who don't win every game" club. This will soon be followed by the "I hate every Rockets player who doesn't have a double double every night".

Uh, I beg to differ where I saw someone say that Van Gundy doesn't motivate...

Van Gundy was able to get his players to play their ass off on defense in NY. I respect any coach in the NBA who can get 12 guys to believe in defensive intensity. That requires a hell of a lot of motivation.

When the Rockets play defense this year, don't chalk it up to the team "maturing". It's Jeff's doing.

Jeff Van Gundy is only going to bring something that this team has lacked recently. Heart and Chemistry.

Give the man a chance. I was very critical of the Rockets seemed hesitation in going after Larry Brown, but you could do worse than Van Gundy. Personally, however, I think Francis' and/or Mobley's selfishness is going to end up ruining Van Gundy's master plan in the end.

They were already in the top 5 in defense last year.

The Houston Rockets have not made the playoffs in along time. It's time for a change and that change just happened. My opinion, JVG is a great coah. I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE CRY ABOUT HIS TEMPER. THATS WUT HE NEEDS TO DO. OUR PLAYERS DONT HAVE ANY DISCIPLINE AT ALL! I am maybe on of the biggest rockets fan and support the team in evry way i can. These players are getting paid MILLIONS FOR PLAYING BASKETBALL!! Stop crying! It's making me sick. JVG's attitde to this team is great. I know with the coaching of JVG will help this team very much.

    my two cents..

who are you to judge jeff's coaching ability? give the guy a chance. until he does something uncalled for or wrong, you can say stuff.

as of right now, i'm liking jeff's system. it seems very effective. i'm anxious about thursday to see how well our guys play.

    go rockets :)

no...they just sucked so bad that they dragged the other teams down with them. That's not defense.

You do realize the Rockets had a winning record last year as a WC team?

I was one of those who wanted Rudy fired... but don't overstate the issue. The Rockets were actually a quality team last year.

all I can say is that the past three games the Rockets have looked better than I have seen them in the past 5 years. Not too many of the players have changed so I give a lot of credit to VG. I noticed a team that played better devense and there was more movement in the offense and less standing around. Yao seems to be taking his coaches advice and is playing more agressive goint to the basic instead of fading away so much.
