Can't argue with your point about discipline, especially defensively. I guess I'm banking on the fact that this will improve after removing three of the worst defenders from our rotation (Lawson, Jones, Thornton). A healthy*** DMo, Smith, and Capela add length, defensive awareness, and athleticism to our front court.

You can afford to have a gambler like Brewer play as a key rotation piece, but not while defensive zeros like Thornton (to a lesser extent), Lawson, and Jones let players blow by them and don't make proper defensive rotations.

$10 tip jar bet that we do make the playoffs

You would just need way too much to happen for the Rockets to win a championship which is the only goal obviously. Why see a scenario where we end up a 5th seed or 6th seed and make it to the 2nd round and maybe win 1 game and play hard and make the rest of the games competitive against the Dubs or Spurs but lose? That would basically guarantee JBB gets a contract extension and more than likely Dwight gets his huge max. 2 events that could set us back a decade.

If Curry's baby ankles break and he's out for the season? Uh. Yeah. Make the playoffs and give it your all, because the Spurs as great as they are, are a good match up for us and Harden always plays great against them. Sure were probably still not good enough to beat OKC, or the Clippers either, but i'm not scared of them.
That's the only scenario i'd care to make the playoffs in. Otherwise, give me the lottery pick, a new coaching staff, and leverage to bring back Dwight and DMo for cheap.

I would easily trade leverage in contract negotiations to experience a successful playoff run, whether or not it eventually results in a championship. Last year was probably my favorite as a Rockets fan (only 3 yo during the championship run), even though we didn't get the ring.

    (pls don't re-sign JB though!)

Are these the recycled Bosh cans? That turned into cap flexibility that turned into lux tax that are now turning into these shiny new ones?

Damn Daryl. The hamster is dead but the wheel is still spinning.
