So I been disconnected all day at schlitterbahn. I'm trying to catch up. We are gonna get hard capped no matter not? Whether we use the MLE for Tucker or SnT for him? That's correct? Also, that left us with about 20m to round out roster but before Nene? And so his cap hit this year, takes from that 20m available correct? What's the current projections of space? And current roster numbers? Do the NGs not count against the roster until they become guaranteed? Thanks in advance guys
Yes. Using the Non-Taxpayer MLE, the BAE or doing a SnT each will trigger the Hard Cap for rest of year. Bima has confirmed that the only way to get Tucker is either by MLE or SnT. The only way to avoid this is by trading Ryno to get back under the cap to use capspace on signing Tucker. this is Bima's most recent tweet on cap numbers. His numbers include Tucker and Zhou as well. All contracts count, but you can cut the NG ones to remove them from the books instantly.
Not in 25 years apparently. I see the bright light lots my man. As we sit now, we are not significantly improved a playoff contender. Spurs, GS, Cavs are all still ahead of us. Same as last year. While the timberpups and OKC are making strides that may pay off more in the future.
It's going to be okay. We've got a very solid 8-man rotation with the return of Nene, and a cheap third-string big in Qi. If we wanted to fill all 240 minutes of a game with those eight guys, we could get away with it for weeks at a time. We do probably need a credible third-string point guard before we go into the season purely for injury insurance. But barring big trades, any money we spend from here on is purely for third-stringers, and you can get 4-6 quality third-stringers for $17 million. It of course limits our ability to actively used all those nonguaranteed contract in a Shumpert or similar trade, but even if they aren't traded for anything we've got a good core.
