This is a thread to get everyone's minds off of Free Agency. I know it is random and not sure if it belongs in this thread, but hey, it's the offseason. Brooks-------Bobby Jackson (instant offense of the bench-- this is why Lowry starts ) Ariza---------Christie (defensive stopper that does the intangibles) Martin--------Peja (lights out shooter) Bosh---------Webber (all-star big man) Yao-----------Divac (passing big with high IQ) Lowry--------Bibby (the floor general) Budinger-----Turkoglu (offensive SF off the bench) Maybe this is the reason why we have been building the team the way that we have because Adelman knows what types of players will work well in his offense. Maybe this is the reason why our team will lack defense and be one of the top offensive teams. For the people who don't remember this is the 2002 Sacramento Kings team that Adelman coached and lost to the Lakers in the Conference Finals (the one that Donaghy said was rigged.) Maybe this is the reason why we aren't going to trade Ariza (for Bosh) because his game resembles Doug Christies game. Well of course this isn't REALLY the reason but it's the offseason and I'm tired of hearing about Lebron.
a bit of a reach. aaron brooks = bobby jackson? ariza = christie? martin = peja? yao = vlade? a lot of these don't really work. Martin drives way more than peja ever did, divac will never have yaos post game. yao doesn't even pass as well as vlade did. nice trying, but adelman is just trying to build a team, i don't think there is no real prototype team.
I don't think he means they are the actual players. Yao is a great passer, Martin shoots the ball like peja from the three, he is also good off the ball. He said Adelman KNOWS THE TYPE. lol, Reading is fundamental. This isn't a stretch god knows Van gundy tried to turn this team into the knicks. Which is why Ewing was Yao's coach for awhile.
Not sure, I couldn't find any defensive rank statistics that go back pass 2005. I remember they were top 5 or so in steals and defensive rebounding but I also think that gave up a really high PPG(over 100?). Basically outscoring opponents.. but then again, its been almost a decade so I'm not sure.
Well no two players are exactly the same. Yao and Divac are both good big men. Yao can score more but I was merely stating that Divac was also a legit big man that had great passing skills from the post, something you don't see very often. Divac wasn't that much of a scrub, didn't he get his number retired?
I Think you should switch Lowry and Brooks places.. Aaron Brooks..............Mike Bibby Kyle Lowry.................Bobby Jackson ..(although they aren't the same type of players)
You got it wrong...Brooks is Bibby and Lowry is the tough tough Bobby Jackson. Brooks is not tough like Lowry just as Bibby is not tough like Bobby.
