Houston is the best city in the world...I'm biased because I was born in Texas and raised here...I knew this when I was living there, and really took it for granted... Living outside of Houston has cemented the fact that Houston is the best place to live, work and raise your kids...The ethnicity, the low cost of living, the tons of suburbs to choose from and the great food...In addition, great night life and great sports teams... All in all, H-Town doesn't deserve the bad rap by tourists who b*tch and complain about everything anyway...
Austin fits comfortably in the hipster city zone - not to small not to FAT. Yep you've got a major case of Austin envy. Seattle population - 536,978 San Fran population- 745,774 Austin population - 656,562
T_J would be appalled. Honestly...I cant believe he rated Rick's better than Treasures.. The Men's Club I can understand...but Rick's? I havent been to Ricks and TMC in ages....SO I cant really say if they are better or not...but people I trust assure me that Treasures is up there with TMC. Opinions?
If we get an arenabowl i'm moving back to H-Town. This is the big event I hope comes back to Houston - anyone check out this race?
I've always thought it was the people that made Houston a nice place to live. In terms of trees and entertainment and whatever else, yes, you could find better places, but the people and their kindness as well as their general politeness absolutely rock.
Gotta agree with the comment about Lost Angeles not having a soul... that's so on the money it's scary. I'm wishing I was back in Houston this week. I had to drive home from Center City yesterday in snow, sleet and freezing rain in my beat to hell Neon. What's funny about living here is all these people b**** and b**** about the weather and yet they grew up in say NE Philly, got married in W Philly, and then maybe got a little daring and moved 5 miles outside the city limits to retire. Take it from someone who's lived in Houston and several other cities all over the country: Texas is the best period. No one here has a PA flag flying from their house, or business, or hell I've never seen once since I've been here! I've never heard anyone say I'm from Pennsylvania with pride. God I need a chicken fried steak and a 2.99 haircut......
