Can you do 2 applications at once, for example can I put a fungicide and weed control product on at the same time or do I have to wait a week between applications. I planted my St Augustine in March and it was doing well but all of a sudden it is going bad. I have dead patches and certain areas where it simply died. I have no experience with southern grass and I am ready to call a proffesional

    Two applications....yes, you can

Don't apply weed control or fertilizer if your lawn is ill.

Dead spots not from lack of water? Chinch bugs?

Cohen is probably right! Chinch bugs got ahold of my yard and I called a lawn service to come spray those bastards away. I initially thought it was some sort of fungus, but the lawn service immediately identified it as chinch bugs.

Apparently chinch bugs can detect when grass is stresses...and that seems to be where they like to infest. In my case, I mow on a high setting so my grass will grow in thick. I also use a mulching mower which helps in growing grass, but also creates a thick undercovering of dead grass. Apparently this helped contribute to grass stress...along with a couple of weeks with no rain. Luckily I have it under control now and only received minimal damage. Make sure you don't water your lawn to death around these dying spots. You'll only stress the grass more and make the problem worse. You might want to hire a lawn service or get some sort of pesticide that is specifically for chinch bugs. Good luck!!!
