Yes, but you were just a page ago liking a post about how he shouldn't have apologized in the first place?

So Whoopiesays some dumb crap and you had a completely different opinion on that. She gets held to a higher standard than Joe I guess? I mean look at your posts about Whoopi saying dumb stuff and Rogan saying dumb stuff. Should she had been suspended, I mean she apologized too, right?

His explanation was dumb too and doesn't help much. "I was trying to make the story entertaining." to who, I wonder? I imagine if he told that story in front of a black audience it would not have been very entertaining.

He definitely pushes narratives, I don't see how you would think otherwise.

He is definitely not just a guy.

He shouldn’t apologize for having different guests
But he’s apologizing for past comments about another topic

yeah what Whoopie said was offensive. What happened to her ?
She got a two week paid vacation. Did she lose her job ? Of course not she makes too much money for that show

I didn’t call for her to lose her job or anything . I don’t watch that show.

You don’t have to forgive to Rogan . I’m all about individual choice in media consumption

How the **** is saying it looked like we were in the Planet of the Apes somehow not being racist?

Since when were a lot of black people in the Planet of the Apes?

Why would Planet of the Apes be associated with black people if you were not comfortable calling black people apes?

Here is my thing on this...I used to watch Rogan but I don't anymore because I think he's racist in the technical sense. I heard about this story YEARS ago and I sort of hand waved it away because I swear he apologized for it before...but the guy has a TON of questionable comments when it comes to race. I'm surprised it's taken someone this long to dig that up because I know he did delete the video or try to hide it some years ago.

Do I think he hates black people and hope we die or something extreme? No. But I do think he sees black people as different. He's made that clear throughout his career. His "Black people have different brains, they are not dumber but different" sums up how he feels about black people. I think this is how racism works today. It's not that people want to kill black people but see us as different and usually that different translates into 'lesser'.

I don't care to look this up, that comment though, his comment one time about Francis Ngannou and other African UFC fighters and how they are just 'built different' one time...that was the first comment from him that made me go...huh? As someone that used to watch his podcasts It's always something casual he says that makes me go...hmmmm....

But I can't support the guy. My issue is when I call him racist it is with reason, it's not me hating on him or trying to slander him or anything...It's just me reacting to the things he's said and the fact that I don't think he's ever done anything to make me think he's changed his mind from that point of view. Hopefully, he has on a guest taht really challenges him on race, I'd tune in to that podcast at least but...I think for many people going after him today it's the same.

I honestly didn't hear about the interracial thing he said that was dug up but I'm not at all surprised by it. The thing is...if Joe says "Black people have different brains" and crazy stuff like that you can't be surprised that some people are offended by stuff like that. I feel like sometimes I'm being gaslighted. I know that was super racist what he said but if I call the dude racist people will make it seem like I'm the crazy one.

Hearing anyone speak the word, regardless of their skin color, makes me cringe. I'm not sure the context in which he used it, but to say it 20+ times over the course of a few years on air... you have to expect some backlash at some point. Maybe that's what he wanted.

I'm not sure what you mean by actors, or cancelling for that matter, or why that term is suddenly so popular, or why some (not saying you) twist themselves into knots to point the finger at people guilty of far less, while defending people like this guy. So he's entertaining? Or leans one direction politically... that doesn't give him a pass to say stupid things or put the lives of others at risk. Or it shouldn't.

I personally don't care if he remains on Spotify or not. (Although, it would be great if we could stop following and rewarding shitheads.) I'm more excited that people are shining light on the COVID misinformation he, and people like yourself, are spreading. That's all.

Joe Rogan is dumb, he says dumb things with dumb people to dumb fans.

I'm completely shocked at his fan base here in the d&d.

He’s 100% done. Spotify is going to void his contract or buy him out. There’s no coming back from the racist comments. I’ve enjoyed some of his interviews in the past but some of the comments made in those clips are indefensible.

Joe Rogan is Goop for men.

Or Joe Rogan is Astrology for men.

Simping for Rogan is the same as simping for Gwyneth Paltrow.

Like he has a choice. Unless stipulated differently in his contract, Spotify can do whatever it wants. If he didn't apologize, Spotify is probably in a much tougher situation - they might just boot him immediately. He made the right decision. I hope Spotify keeps him on and he improves himself and his podcasts. I like the label (this guest's opinion is outside of consensus) at the start, and he should try to include different opinions within the same episode and not let it hang to misinform folks.
