"Entourage" and "Boardwalk Empire" executive producers Mark Wahlberg and Steve Levinson are working with controversial writer James Frey -- whose next book is titled "The Final Testament of the Holy Bible" -- on a one-hour drama that will use both legit actors and real p*rn performers. The plot will focus on a giant video company under siege from Internet competitors and a girl from the Midwest whose boyfriend convinces her to move to Los Angeles to become a star. Reached by Page Six, Frey, who's writing the pilot, said, "We're going to make a sprawling epic about the p*rn business in LA. We're going to tell the type of stories no one else has told before, and go places no one has gone before." Very private places, we imagine. didn't show time have Family business or something about Seymore Butts and his p*rn company? couldnt have sworn saw some reality show based on his life and his uncle did some work and his mom was like the account of the company.
I think it's fabulous. HBO consistently does an outstanding job creating and producing both series television (The Sopranos, for example) and multi-part special programing for those of us who subscribe, and even those times when they don't personally appeal to me, I still have to acknowledge the quality of what they put out. Very much looking forward to this!
True Blood, Entourage and Hung push the limits of softcore p*rn pretty good so I wonder how much they will bend the "rules" on this show.
Tell Me You Love Me, google Michelle Borth (you may remember her from the Burger King Office commercials from like 5 years ago.)
HBO used to be the king of original programming. Showtime has been blowing them out of the water recently. The Tudors Weeds Californication Dexter Now you can add "The Big C" to that list. Great original programming. That is why I switched to Showtime.
I agree that Showtime is coming on strong, and AMC, of all things, has possibly my favorite series, Mad Men, which I love, seeing as how it reminds me of things I remember living through (HBO, if you can believe it, turned it down!). I've yet to see The Tudors, but have heard great things about it. I'm a fan of the other 3 Showtime series, and have heard of The Big C.
Best series on TV is still "Mad Men" at the moment. Before that was "The Wire" (except that last season). Weeds has been underwhelming the last few seasons and Californication is just mediocore. Dexter, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Breaking Bad are all great shows. I liked the premiere of The Big C. Entourage sucks now.
Yeah, but they are still different areas. HBO also had G-String Divas which was about strippers. So, they are just covering all their bases...prosititutes, strippers, and now, whores who are "actresses".
