Cushing: If you think you're that good, why don't you punt return? Hopkins: 'Cause Cushing: 'Cause why? Hopkins: Did Jerry do it? Cushing: Who gives a f--- about Jerry Rice? Are you No. 80? You're No. 10. I thought they were talking about Andre Johnson at first.
In terms of personnel evaluation, he does appear to have a minimal role. Coach says "get me X", Rick's job is to figure out how to make it happen and happen for as cheap as possible. He really doesn't seem very involved in the football side of things.
Lol. He doesn't do it because there's no money in it and a significant chance to get hurt. Same reason Cushing isn't a wedge breaker.

Thanks. I thought they were talking about Andre too because I just caught the "Are you number 80?" line.
Doesn't seem to me Hopkins' best skills really translate all that well to punt returner anyway. His plus skills are body control, hands and route running (I think), not elusiveness, quickness and speed.

Deandre should have shot back with "How come you don't play tight end? JJ won't give you permission?"
Loved the episode. Love this team. O'Brien, as I have thought all along, is still the man. Kevin Johnson looked impressive. He's not afraid of anyone. We have a good group at that position. I didn't realize Hopkins had that kind of fire. I'm digging it. I like Vrabel. Never thought I'd say that. Can't wait for next week.
Some harsh critics here, geez. I thought it lived up to expectations and more - the roster story lines will come, that was just the first week of camp. So much win... Wilfork at the circus Quizzing the rookies ("I don't give a ___ about Georgie") OB behind closed doors Cush and Hopkins The Redskins fight etc
the jj watt training with his pseudo wing chun dummy was so over the top that i'd loved it. The whole scene had the feel to an 80s action film. got to like our rookies, reading GOT and referencing batman
I was definitely entertained. I also think if you're going to be a professional athlete, you have to shirk the notion that the fire and brimstone coming from coaches is contrived. Everybody knows that it is, but in order to get up everyday with that competitive spirit, you have to buy into the team mentality wholly. Also, I'm excited to see Kevin Johnson on the field.....which means, maybe he can convince his sister to join the Texans cheerleading squad??
Unfortunately, that was his 15 minutes of training camp this year. Just a terrible turn of events.....
I thought it was funny how the show started with O'Brien talking about how the Texans get no respect. The HK spent the next 3 or 4 minutes showing the Patriot's Super Bowl Party.
I can't believe they didn't show the play where Wilfork basically picked up the Redskins center and threw him at the RB
