  2. I think we can get alot better for the reserve role, I just think alot of us here are biased and sentimental towards Bullard , because of his off the court presence, but sometimes when you need to win or want to win bad enough, you will overlook the personal and go towards the business side of basketball

    GATER!!!!

nah dewd I will show restraint with you, I didnt start out attacking anyone, if you go on back to the top, you will see because I didnt post any stats to go with my comments, that I made a "stupid"claims, so that was the attack, and you better believe I will respond to that,

But back on topic, the bottom line is, why is it bad if we cut him, and brought in somebody younger who is just as good with the 3??

    that is all

It wasn't a stupid claim because you didn't post stats, the stats were to show that the claim that Bullard didn't shoot the three any better than Tom Gugliotta or Christian Laettner was a stupid claim. It was. And you did start out attacking Bullard.

    Two reasons:
1)There aren't many people who shoot the three better than Bullard.
    2) Any one younger would probably cost a great deal more than Bullard, especially since they might have delusions of granduer. Bull is happy to be a spot-up shooter.

If we're gonna have a role player, why don't we get one who's a superstar?

For real though, Bull's role isn't as an offensive spark plug or a defensive specialist, or one of the other many roles people are given in the NBA. He's a 3 point specialist. That's what he does. He shoots 3s. And sometimes he drives to the basket. That's when the whole team can share in a good laugh ;-)

That sounds fine in concept, however this new person must fit all of the following criteria:

    1. Can shoot the 3 equal or better than Bullard

    2. Will play on an as-needed basis, not assured of regular minutes in the rotation.

    3. Accept criteria #2 without complaining.

    4. Will accept a contract for the same money or less than Bullard.

    5. Has decent size, 5'8" won't cut it.

    6. If he needs to go on the IR for 2 weeks to facilitate some roster moves, will do it without complaining.

    7. WANTS to be in Houston.

If you have a guy that fills all the points above, call CD and Rudy.

Until you can come up with a name to do all of the above better than Bullard, you will continue to be criticized.

You are smoking crack to suggest that Starks or Sunvold are even close to being on the same level as Mashburn.

For your ifFORmaTION, who did Matt Bullard defend in the third to last game of the season?

    Rasheed Wallace.

Then who did he guard in the last game of the season?

    Kevin Garnett.

And HOW did the Rockets seem to go 5-0 or whatever when Bull started this year?

    MATT Bullard.

Woohoo, draft Jefferson, resign Mo or sign Webber, how much would he play anyway? He his a FAN FAVORITE and can light it up. Don't be so DAMN critical, man. He does what he does best - hit the three.

Could you hit 40% from long range in the National Basketball Association?

No, you need to refrain from personal attacks. We have specific rules set up to keep this a semi-civil place to discuss the Rockets or whatever else.

You have the choice to follow them or leave.

We arent saying Bullard is great at D we are saying he is good at hitting the 3 and can play a little D. Bullard is good at what he is supposed to do and can play some D. And I must agree with your comment, "I am dumb" You are so right.

There has a been at least one incredible, dare I say Magical, Bullard Moment in each game that he has appeared in this season. (and even some in which he didn't appear). They have been well documented by his fan club.

    Don't playa hate, participate

Guys, OlajuWons has a really good point here, and I totally agree with him.

If we can find a guy to match the following criteria, I say sure, let's trade Bull:

    1. Shoots the 3 better
    2. Is more athletic
    3. Wants the same or less money
    4. Is younger
    5. Is a stronger defender
    6. Is better in the "clutch"
    7. Is more skilled

I'm down, man. Where do I sign? Now who is this Godsend of a basketball player?

As a matter of courtesy, I have deleted the URL. However, I am not sure what you are referring to as on my screen it was 2 lines long and in a different color to signify it's drill down potential. Upon editing, it ceased to become a link. Again, not sure what you meant by "hard to read". Actually, I was hoping this thread would die, so feel free to e-mail me with advice.

Be more realistic guys. We had 14 players on the roster at the end of the season. We plan on signing 1 free agent (CWebb hopefully). Plus 3 first round draft picks. Thus barring a multiplayer trade 4 or 5 players will need to go away. The most likely are Carlos, Bullard, Hakeem and Taylor (if we sign CWebb).
