    Probably because the style of comedy isn't really popular with younger generations. Cheesy dad jokes and fake laugh tracks just aren't in vogue now a days.

    Comedy tv series are way better in quality today such as VEEP, Always Sunny etc.

    Millennials frankly think sitcoms are cheesy and not funny. Fake laugh tracks just don't do it for us.

    Sitcoms overall are dropping in viewership.
