Super Mario 1 was great because it was the original Nintendo game, even if it wasn't the first. The 2nd one was kind of weird, and just wacky, but the ability to play other popular Mario characters such as Luigi and The Princess made it better. The 3rd one was awesome, going back to just Mario. Great graphics and gameplay made up for the cartoon style of the 2nd one. Sonic The Hedgehog, much like SMB for NES, was the marquee game for Sega Genesis. With cool and challenging levels, The sequels proved to be just as popular as the original as the Game was only changed minorly from title to title. It became the game made for every Sega system until the popular Dreamcast line was given up and Sega dropped out of the Game System market and focused on making Games. Twisted Metal 1 was an early favorite of PSXers, the sequel was even better. The sweetness of a demented clown in an Ice Cream truck firing Napalm never got old. Then 989 Studios got ahold of them and ruined the series with hideous games Twisted Metal 3 and 4, with blurred vision, make-you-puke gameplay and annoying music. Twisted Metal Black was recently released for PS2 but proved not to be as popular as the originals. Goldeneye was and still is by many considered the greatest 1st person shooter ever. The PSX versions of Bond were pretty bad and never came close to the greatness of Goldeneye. The PS2 version Agent Under Fire, proved to be better with great missions and finally a decent multiplayer mode. The Medal of Honor series for PSX proved to be a popular shooter to rival the N64's Goldeneye, The Early 20th century war game appealed to many and is still considered the best PSX shooter. The PS2 Version of Medal Of Honor will be out soon and hopes to be just as good as the great PS1 titles.
Unbelievable! No one mentioned ROBOTRON! That was an all-timer for me. I'm old skool, so the others that I like are Time Pilot, Tempest, Stargate (as mentioned earlier) Outrun Europa and Centipede/Millepede. I really like GTA 1, but not 2, though the kids swear it's 100 times better. 3 looks like da stuff, so I'll definitely be checking that out.
Techmo bowl w-out a doubt! I can't even imagine how many hours I spent my freshman year in college playing that game!
I played that first Karate game again last year and I thought, god, this seems so lame now. Karateka wasn't much better. But that Bruce Lee fighting game on the C64 was pretty dang good. I'm glad someone mentioned Diablo 2. My favorite PC game of all time is X:Com 1. My favorite arcade game was/is Centipede.
Bah That game is lame J/k One day when I have time I may actually play it. But it is hard for me to think that in order to play it I have to put money in your pocket
Atari: Breakout Intellivision: Dungeons and Dragons Sega: Fantasy Star 1 Play Station: Tecmo Bowl X-Box: Halo
Castor, I don't make any money on the game, the publisher does. Our company has moved on to a new publisher. Since the game is only $10 at EB, it is worth a look. DD
Conkers bad fur day has very good one liners and graphics are pretty good, quite comical waiting for them to put one on gamecube. Parasite eve I and II worth metioning as well...
BTW, I have a guy that wants to sell me a SNES with the following games for $100 bucks. Do you gamers think it's worth it? TETRIS 2 SUPER METROID MORTAL COMBAT (COMPETITION EDITION) PILOTWINGS SIM EARTH (THE LIVING PLANET) ILLUSION OF GAIA SPIDERMAN VENOM MAXIMUM CARNAGE CASTLEVANIA IV THE LEGENDS OF ZELDA (A LINK TO THE PAST) DESERT STRIKE (RETURN TO THE GULF) VEGAS STAKES SECRET OF MANA F-ZERO
Actually DaDa I plan on it. I don't have any spare time until school lets out for the summer so I will probably pick it up then. CK
Hall of Fame Classics: Super Metroid Castlevania 4 LOZ:LTTP Secret of Mana Above Average games: F-Zero Illusion of Gaia That's probably a good deal. I'd try to beat him down to $80, though, if possible.
Tecmo Super Bowl! That game revolutionized sports games. It may possiblly still today have the most addicvtive gameplay of any sports game. Other games......Castlevania, Mario 1&3, Sonic, Everquest, Final Fantasy 7. I may get really critisized for this one, but I really liked the first two Tomb Raider games as well. After that it was downhill for Lara Croft.
SNES does rule - you can get a system well equipped on Ebay or at a pawn shop too. Maybe a little cheaper. I liked Desert Strike, Vegas Stakes, and Sim Earth(the monolith is cool).
Cool, on Friday I should be the owner that package for $85! I might be selling some of the games(not Metroid) if anyone is interested.
