Does anyone remember the name of the first arcade karate game. It was simple face up karate competition with no fatalaties or special combo moves. If you made a hit, a corny karate judge would award you a Flag point. 3 points and you win the match. You would fight in an arena, on a suspended log, and some other places. It could be played against the computer or against another person. The controlers were two joysticks...no buttons. I kicked ass on that game. I wish I could find it again...simple moves rule...Jump over him, reverse roundhouse...POINT!
It's GTA3, no argument possible, and if you disagree with me, I will club you over the head with a baseball bat, set you on fire with a Molotov cocktail, and steal your car. Maybe I've been playing a bit too much of it lately.
I used to love that game. There were several versions of it. It was called Karate champ. You can find info on it here: http://www.mame.dk/gameinfo/kchampvs/
I bought Resident Evil 2 for my n64 when it came out. I lived in the boonies, in the middle of a grapefruit orchard...Kinda spooky. So it's night and I turn out the lights in my bedroom and crank up the surround sound. Friggin zombies break through a window and scare the crap out of me...I was hooked!!!
Grand theft Auto three, is, in fact, the greatest game ever. All the Mario's are good. Final Fantasy, up til 7, after 7 they became movies (****ty and boring.)
Not quite true. RE was evolutionary, not revolutionary. Alone In The Dark for the PC was revolutionary and came out a year or two before RE. AITD was what spawned the whole 3rd person horror thing.
let me refraise it then...i started with the commador 64?, then atarti, then nentendo, then sega, then sega genesis...then i stopped...wasnt until someone showed me resisdent evil on playstation that i awakened from my sleep and was blown away at just how far games had gone in my absence...
how funny... i was playing tecmo super bowl on my old NES when i read this thread... yeah, i have a PS2 and dreamcast... but i can't give up my old NES and the millions of games I still have for it (marios, rad racer, ninja turtles, DOUBLE DRIBBLE!!!, mike tyson's punchout, gauntlet, etc.) my poor ps2 has just collected dust (hardly played)... guess this old man (24) is still living in his teen years!
Mario Tennis and Super Smash Bros are cool, i wouldnt say they are the greasted but me and my friends couldnt get enough out of those games for some reason, we thought they would be dumb but they ended up being cool. I would say the greastest game would be any Mario games, i think there are newer ones that will become greats but there to new to be considered greatest next to mario.
