Is this a post apocalyptic Earth you are talking about? They *might* edge out a cockroach barbershop quartet in that case... ;)

velvet revolver's first cd is very very good. their second one is a bit of a disappointment though there's a few good songs. i'm a huge g'n'r fan, and while this isn't it, it's a lot closer than what axl is gonna get done.

alice in chains is by far my favorite grunge era band and staley is one of the greatest rock singers i've ever heard. it's kind of weird to see them do a tour without him. do they have a new lead singer or does cantrell sing everything?

i'm definitely going to this concert though.

I can't imagine Alice in Chains without Layne Staley, just not right...

    While we're ranking grunge-era bands...

STP > AIC > Soundgarden > Pearl Jam

VR is alright, not nearly as good as STP or GnR. I wish they'd stop so Weiland could get back with STP. For me, it doesn't get much better than that band.

    Also...
Army of Anyone 1st CD > VR 2nd CD
Audioslave > VR (although I am probably alone on that one)

Uhhhh, yeah! There aren't many other true Rock n Roll bands still touring and making albums. It's not STP, but it's the best thing out there. And Pearl Jam? I like them, but they haven't had a decent album in about a decade.

i like them both about the same.

two fantastic debut albums. audioslave's second album was just terrible but their third one is about good as vr's second.

Are you kidding me? All these bands got NOTHING on Fall Out Boy!

Juss keeeding.. However I'd go with STP/Pearl Jam than Nirvana. Sure Nirvana has a bigger influence, but their songs get boring. Just MHO.

[VR] Good band, average songs, horrible frontman.

    I'd say Nirvana > AIC > Soundgarden > STP > Pearl Jam.

I thought this thread was about Cream getting back together. What a letdown that it is actually about Velvet Revolver.:(
