I thought it was honorable to thank those who helped make rap music what it is today. However, I thought Eminem was up there putting on his dumbass rap routine where he's too cool for his speech. He can't even take a time out to give a normal speech. He's got to put on his own little show like he is Mr. Cool with his posse and he has no emotions. He couldn't even smile when he won. It was as if he wanted to smile but had to keep up his phony image instead so he forced himself not to smile but put on his rap face. In conclusion, I thought his "...whatever..." speech sucked. I like his music...just hate his attitude and vibes he was giving off. I think the crowd felt the same way. His speech seemed really insincere...maybe he was just nervous. I dunno...can't figure out that guy. I guess he keeps it all inside to keep up his tough guy image. When he's gone, I will be sure to stare straight ahead with a blank face as well. I really like the N Sync tribute and the award presented to the Brothers Gibb and family.
Didn't she win like 5 awards. In the Oscar, towards the end, the multiple winners often have said everything they wanted to say and don't want to appear like they are hogging the mic. They often bring up more and more people deserving recognition and let them say their one liners. isn't that the case?
How come the Grammy Foundation gets all this free money....... http://www.house.gov/apps/list/press/az06_flake/022403_Grammy.html Congressman Flake Sings the Blues About $800,000 in Omnibus for the Grammy Foundation Why Does the Grammy Foundation Need Taxpayer Money? Washington, DC – Arizona Congressman Jeff Flake, who represents the state’s Sixth District, today was left scratching his head upon finding out the Grammy Foundation, a non-profit arm of the Recording Academy, received $800,000 in the Omnibus Appropriations Bill for 2003, which was recently signed into law. “The mission of the Grammy Foundation is certainly noble,” said Flake, “but why is an organization affiliated with thousands of multi-millionaire musicians and record executives receiving taxpayer money?” “Norah Jones won a handful of awards last night for a song called “Don’t Know Why.” I think that could probably describe a lot of taxpayers trying to figure out why their tax dollars are going to the Grammy Foundation.”
In an interview yesterday I thought Avril seemed awefully empty upstairs. I still don't know if Durst is against the war or for speeding it up--real forceful whatever his point was Nora Jones should not have been up for Pop album. Pop may be short for Popular, but "Pop music" has a different association. She should have been stuck in Piano Jazz or Elevator categories. j/k Jeff, do you really not like Jethro Tull or just the record they finally got some awards for. What has Erika Bado been up to, or in to? Whatever it is please stop.
nelly wrote a hit song about buying athletic shoes.................... Remember in that episode of the simpsons you were talking about when Homer gives the bellhop his grammy as a tip? Homer says, "It's just a grammy."
While thanking people, she accidently said a certain curse word that starts with an S and ends with a T, and was like, "Sorry, I dont know what to say"
Homer: Oh, why won't anyone give me an award? Lisa: You won a Grammy. Homer: I mean an award that's worth winning. "LEGAL DISCLAIMER: Mr. Simpson's opinions does not reflect those of the producers, who don't consider the Grammy an award at all."]
I almost wanted to start a new thread for this, because I thought it deserved it, but I <b>strongly</b> recommend checking out this music video by Johnny Cash. It's his cover of "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails. If you ever been a fan of his, or just want to see an incredible, emotional music video you won't want to miss it. http://launch.yahoo.com/artist/default.asp?artistID=1004631
