Indiana Pacers are 3rd in East While Thunder are 6th in West, sure they got nearly same record, but i love how barely anyone in media talks about Westbrook being cancer, everyone though Pacers would be bottom feeders fighting for high lotto pick. Westbrook MVP MY ASS lololol one of the worst MVP's in my recent memory.
Westbrook is an exciting player. He brings the stats with him. But it can be said, his teams generally underwhelm according to expectations. Is it him? Or is it that his teammates hestitate to play their style? One day he may get a coach that harnesses that talent into team wins. But right now he’s an exciting individual performer.
Nobody in the media talks about just how good Myles Turner has turned to be. He's only 21 years old and is already projecting as a future All-Star and a top 5 center in the league. Last night against the Celtics, he quietly had 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, 8-13 shooting, 61.5% FG and 3-4, 75% 3PT. That's efficient as hell. The Pacers really won their draft on this pick. If they are smart, Turner will become the focal point of the offense and their true franchise player over Oladipo who is best suited to be a sidekick. But you won't hear any of this from the media because... NARRATIVES.
The Pacers took the Jordan Bulls to 7 games. Nobody talked about them either. It's Indiana. It's not like OKC is anything special as a city, so I cant explain that one.
Ehh, if you really want to use that site to measure things, Durant and Giannis only project as all-stars, while Kyrie projects as a borderline all-star. So I'm taking their projections with a grain of salt. Also, Oladipo has already been an all-star (voted in by coaches, no less, so it wasn't due to the popular vote). If the Pacers are smart, they'll lock up Oladipo and Turner, and make both the focal points. Aside from CP3-Griffin, it's probably been a while since a small-big duo had some potential to be great.
Turner is cool and all but focal point he is not. He’s absolutely a sidekick type star in the making. Oladipo is probably a sidekick also but probably better suited as a #1. As for the Westbrook hype, besides the extreme athleticism and highlight reel plays, is because he’s a Nike/Jordan focal point.
