I think you and Adam should be the ONLY ones allowed to do Rockets interviews...well maybe Rich and "entertainment news" Marc can do it once in a while
LOL! Yah, Granato always sounds like he's forcing himself to care about what's being talked about. I think as far as "funny" goes, him and Lance had some great stuff on in the morning, especially when they had some comedians on or Jon Barry, I always found it funny. Anyways, we are all Rockets fans, so during the off season we naturally get bored about all the radio talk that doesn't include much Rockets talk/info/interviews etc.
Yah I know, I actually did listen to that segment a few times before. It just puts you to sleep more or less...don't do it if you are driving, in fact that should be a disclaimer at the beginning of the segment.
I don't listen to radio, and havent listened to talk radio in 10 years. But I think I might just tune into Golf Hour on 610 due to all the hype its getting here. I love golf and play twice a week.
Now we're talking! You guys are blowing the Redstone angle way out of proportion. I'll pull a log and check references. I bet there is less than two outside of the two spots that run during the hour. It's an entertaining hour if you are a golf enthusiast. If you are a semi-enthusiast then it is tolerable. If you don't like golf you probably won't like the show. Seems simple to me...
Chance, it's not the official ads, it's the all Redstone all the time bias, Those old farts haven't even seen the pro shop at any other golf courses in this town for two decades. Well maybe Shadowhawk or River Oaks playing with Ken Lay and Bob McNair, but they are as far removed from the average Houston golfer as GWB is from factory workers. And I'll guarandamtee you they haven't paid a green fee. I'm not sure how you make a golf show interesting but it isn't with tales of the old rat pack and you can't give the same 'how to stop a slice' tip a million times. Golf tips require visuals anyway. Team sports have management stategies, player movements, match-ups; lot's of stuff golf just doesn't have. I love golf, but it just does not translate to radio.
The golf hour sucks. I get up late, so I barely get to listen to the morning show, and when I do, I don't want to hear this guy. I rather listen to John and Lance talk about the Comets. It seems like Lance doesn't like to go solo for some reason. I hate it when he always gets that guy from St Louis. Marc and Rich... They try? Now Matt and Adam. They have the best show. I am glad they got four hours. So let's sum it up. The golf hour sucks. Send it packing. When I listen to 790, I like how they take shots at Tom Tynan. Has anybody seen the Dr Pepper comercial? They rip you guys off Chance.
Yup, all the courses I can't get on...well I have played Champions once. (it was real and it was spectacular)
Rich is nothing but comic relief, and without a knowledgeable co-host like Palillo, he blows. Since Vandermeer only cares about the Texans, that pairing doesn't work. I like Lance, but Granato is awful. I like Adam, but Matt is too much a Jim Rome wannanbe. Harbison is rock steady. His low-key style is a welcome change from the typical histrionics that sports talk has become. The only thing worse than golf on TV is golf on the radio.
Wrong. I love playing golf, and I even play sober. However, golf on radio is torture, and watching people play golf on TV sucks, too. However, I'm glad all you couch potatoes watch this crap so I can get discounted tee times during the Masters. You're just bitter because you can't change your name to tmac23.
The Master's on TV does not suck, on the contrary, it rivals The Final four, the second weekend of the NFL playoffs and the NBA conference Champoinships as the best weeks of the year. The Tour Championship at Sawgrass is pretty compelling and I enjoyed about 25 hour of this years Open (British) Championship. The US open is hard for me to watch because they set the course up so that the best players in the world look like the every day hacks I see all day long. Actually as involved in golf as I am , I do enjoy a bunch of tournaments on TV. You can't really see that much at a tournament live, you need cameras to cover the acreage.
You don't like Hadley. The only guest I like more than Hadley is Solich. Did anyone here Willie B call up Friday telling everyone to take the under on Patriot wins. I'm so glad that guy isn't a regular anymore.
