Are you implying that Gobert is not a good defender because he couldn't contain an MVP caliber player who's way faster than him? Come on now.

 

I'm saying even the best rim protectors like Gobert, Dwight few years ago etc., are a liabilty because they can't guard perimeter players, and are benched when Death lineup comes to play.

Having said that, what use is having one of best interior defenders if you have to sit him for at least half a game every playoff game? If said player who would be a defensive anchor is also great offensively (Embiid, Davis), then he can be the bane of Death lineup. But Gobert style of player? He can pad his team's defensive stats in regular season, but that means little when he can't help his teammates in the playoffs.

 

Death lineup of GSW is prolly best lineup ever while exploiting opposing bigs. wouldnt take too far fetched assumptions
