Burt Reynolds........The thought of him playing that part makes me cringe................He would have screwed this up..........He plays the same character in every movie............'Deliverance' was his only good movie..........Everyone in 'Smokey and the Bandit' made it an entertaining movie..........and Dirk Digler had a BIGGER PART in 'Boogie Nights' than Burt.............
Rhode Island Mugshot from Al Pacino's January 7, 1961 arrest for carrying a concealed weapon. Pacino, aged 21 and living in New York City, stayed in jail for three days. The three occupants of the car at the time were all wearing black masks and gloves, and had been seen by police circling their vehicle in a suspicious manner.
Okay...so I did a little research on Part IV. Leonardo Decaprio is supposed to be a star of the film! Now, I haven't read the book yet, so I don't know what kind of role he plays, but Leo freakin' Decaprio? In a Godfather film? Say it ain't so... And, for the sake of Parts I and II, I hope that Coppola is involved...very involved. mrpaige/drapg/Drewdog: WATCH IT! LeGrouper: I hadn't really seen and appreciated the films until last year, so I had no idea how good they were. Now, I know they are awesome films, but, hey, three people in this thread have already said that they haven't seen it(Or all of it, anyway)... On Michael Corleone, they had so many people slated as Michael, its ridiculous...Martin Sheen, James Caan, Robert Redford. Coppola wanted De Niro as Sonny. And Paramount wanted anyone but Marlon Brando as Vito. In the end, of course, Coppola got his way(Except for De Niro, but he was satisfied with Caan).
vj23k, I'm glad Caan was Sonny. He was perfect for the role and it gave us De Niro for Part 2... and De Niro was superb, as anyone who saw the film would agree. (I can't believe some of you folks haven't seen it. I'm jealous! Get the DVD-widescreen version.)
Hey vj2k, I bet you are walking around with alot more Motza these days.... that testosteroni surge lasts for months.... And if you haven't seen Goodfella's yet, make that your next. It is the S bomb.
I am too. They showed an audition tape of De Niro as Sonny, and it just wasn't the same. It was good(It is De Niro, afterall), but he just doesn't have the same look as Caan. Like I said earlier(Though I don't know many of the actors of the time), I doubt that I would have casted the movie any differently. And, I agree again. De Niro was an awesome young Vito. LeGrouper: Oh yeah...There's nothing like being the only guy in your chem class to be able to talk to the coolest teacher on campus about an awesome movie. And, I actually saw Goodfella's before I saw Part III...Very cool, but very different from The Godfather. Not as glamorous, probably truer to the real mob scene. I loved it, and probably would have loved it more if I had not seen it with my parents. Every five minutes..."What is this...all there is drugs, sex, and violence...what kind of movie did you pick out?" I guess that was a disaster waiting to happen, though. Next on my older film list: The Freshman, Taxi Driver, Scarface, Raging Bull,
