In years past the Rockets have always had one guy on the team who was capable of doing everything but not elite in anything. Yet they were able to keep a team anchored in their own little way. They always tend to do all the little things that help win games. Players like Shane Battier, Ron Artest, Chandler Parsons(before injuries) and yes, even PJ Tucker. Anthony Lamb is that new "glue" guy that the Rockets need. This former Catamount was the man in Vermont throughout his college career. Although he will not be the man here, he will play a huge part in this teams success in the near future. He will be a foundational piece in our lightening quick rebuild. He will be starting sooner rather than later. He is the gem that people talk about when it comes to finding hidden talent in the draft. He is proof that you dont need high draft picks to get good players. You just need to do your homework.
Coach you may be on to something. He's got nice size and overall skills for small ball 4. Need to find his 3-ball stroke and he'll be a nice piece off our bench--especially after the trade PJ and others.
I say lightening quick because we already have many of the main pieces on the team already in Wood, KPJ, a growing supporting cast and picks. Yeah we could look for another star in the draft but really just need to add more pure shooters around what we have.
We are the worst talented team in the league maybe. Like the amount of actual young l nba talent on our roster right now......are maybe KPJ(who's got mental issues), KMJ, Woods whos going to be 28 when his contract ends and Tate who's also going to be 28 when his contract ends. What do you actually see happening in three years? Embrace the tank, it will be here for at least two more years. Woods and Tate are likely not going to be with us going forward.
Last nights game proved that this team will fare better than previously thought. They actually had a chance to win and they shot terribly. Imagine if Wood were out there. Their defense is going to win a lot of games for them. With that being said, I have embraced the tank for the rest of this season. Next year they will be one of the teams to look out for, imo.
The one thing I don't get about Lamb is what position will he play. As we saw he has the speed to guard any position but you dont want him chasing PGs around all night. Personally I think he should stick to guarding the 2, 3 and 4 spots to maximize his effectiveness on the floor.
No it doesnt. The Rockets played well but the Jazz took their foot off the gas. They also had an 111 offensive rating for the game. The Rockets are going to shoot terribly every game. We are the worst shooting team in the league. It hasnt worked out so far and it wont now. Nwaba and Brown if this organization is smart are going to likely be traded. Wood being out there hopefully will not bring them out of bottom three tier, if it does, we did something wrong. It is such a bad idea not to tank next year either especially when we have our own pick. Some of you werent homers now are suddenly brimming with optimism for no reason whatsoever.
Not disagreeing with you but we also have space for 1 max player contract and maybe 2 if we can get rid of wall. You end up with top 3 pick this year and add max player in the offseason and you can see a very quick turnaround. I think Tate, nwaba, kpj, wood, kmj are all awesome building pieces. Add in a potential stud lottery piece and another max player and you are cooking.
So we look for stars that fit well with our role players now and not the other way around? Stars are easy to find, it's role players that really make the NBA now!
