Here is a crazy notion, charge the same amount for the latte that you charge for the espresso shots over ice, so there is no incentive to do this. The real outrage is that *$s is charging $2 for a cup of milk in addition to the $2 cup of coffee.
Interesting...That is news to me...You have to be at least making $2 or more...Slim margins don't pay the bills...I'm assuming you pay you're employees minimum and most of your costs is overhead...I would have bet money you'd be making a killing by serving dirt and water...
ummm....Starbucks, as well as my own company are in this to make money. Starbucks is doing extemely well and I am not that bad off either, so apparently we are doing something right. If we are not making money on a particular drink we are going to try our best to stop it.
Maybe Toyota should charge the same price for an Avalon or a Lexus IS 300. Same engine right? Maybe Rockets tix should be the same price whether they are on the court or upper deck? Its a business, you get what you pay for. By the way, the cost of milk straight up is more expensive then coffee.
My employees get paid anywhere from $7.00 - $8.50, plus they make $25-$50 in tips a day. Food Cost - 33% (unless somebody pays with a cc, which alot of people do) Payroll - 20% Rent - 20% Marketing, misc. - 10% Left over - 17% So on a four dollar drink I am getting 68 cents (if I'm lucky).
I'd just like to say thanks for letting me know about Ghostland Observatory. I can't stop listening to them now.
