Oh, ok. That makes a LOT more sense now. My post reading ability has been sucking lately. I can't comprehend anything anymore. Maybe I should stop trying to do so 5 minutes after I wake up and with my school work on my mind. :D

Yeah, it is ok. I kind of wish they'd have more of them and possibly to some more interesting people/things. I did like the Nobuo Uematsu one though. Then again, they could have just played midis from FF4, FF6, and FF7 and I would have enjoyed it. :)

I'm almost done with fable: I thought it had more potential than it delivered. After a while the whole world seems kinda the same even though it isn't. The intereaction you have with the townsfolk adds a lot too the game. They cut their hair like you, they cheer you, they get scared of you, they fall in love with you, talk to you, and have sex with you. And they change as the game changes. Which is pretty interesting. The other nice thing is the character gets scars and changes as you play him. Pretty cool. But like I said, after a while the game felt a little repetitive and the story was not captivating enough for me. The game needed a freerer environment like morrowind. If it had that the game would have been a lot better in my opinion. I'd give it a B-.

Berserk is a long running manga (comic book) in Japan. The first part of the story was made into an anime that is available on DVD in the states. Easily one of my top 3 anime shows ever. The manga is much better though. Guts (the main character) is a total bad ass :D

The game looks to cover a lot of material from the later volumes of the manga. I really hope this one makes it over to the states.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what the deal was with it. I originally heard about it in a thread called "Berserk PS2," making me think a PS2 went crazy, but I found out it was about the game. I read it was a action slasher kind of game, which I don't really care too much for, but I decided to check out the clips since it was getting a lot of love. I was flat out amazed by the clips. Like I said, I don't really like these types of games as much as I do other types, yet the clip made me want to play it. I also wish it would make it over to the states. Hopefully it will get a lot of sales and media attention that would persuade them to release it here. I know I've seen MUCH worse from actual games. (I'm looking at you Britney's Dance Beat)

I may try to look for the DVD's if I can as well. Judging from the video clips from the game, can't really go wrong with the DVD's.:D

It's available a 6 disk premium boxset from Deep Discount DVD for $84. It will be rereleased as six disks in a jumbo DVD case in Nov for $54.

    BERSERK PREMIUM COLLECTION $ 83.98
BERSERK-ALPHA CASE BOX $ 53.96 (that's about the cost of a game for 26 episodes, ~10 hours running time).

The show is terrific but a bit maddening as it cuts off when things start to get really good. I'm hoping the game comes over here since it could almost act as a sequel to the show.

Ah Berserk, how I am addicted to it. A little advice: if you wanna watch the anime and read the mangas, make sure to watch the anime first. Why? Because the anime is awesome, but the manga is so uber-cool that once you get into it it makes the anime look weak by comparison.

My cousin in Buffalo already ordered a Japanese PS2 and a copy of Berserk, so I'll get back to you guys on how good it is when I play it, probably in like a month.

Throw me an e-mail if you want me to send you any of the first three volumes of the manga to see what you think, I have all the scanlations. :) The rest you can get here.

Thanks for the info guys. The prices for the the whole set does seem nice, but I don't know if my parent would be willing to drop $50 on it. (hehe...I have to talk them into getting the ESPN games.) What I may do is try to find one to rent from one of the rental places or see if it is available off of Netflix. If I really like it, which it sounds like I will given the responses here, I'll look into it a little more, especially once I can pay for it myself instead of my parents. Perhaps I could just wait about 2 years or so until it comes out on a Blu-ray paper disc for like $20. :)

That does look awesome. I think I tried to watch one of the TGS clips of it along with the other TGS stuff, but I think I messed up and forgot to download it. I'm glad you mentioned it. IIRC, I thought I saw some new clips of it on IGN while I was at school today. I would have watched them, but the school's WMP is WAY out of date and can't play them. Now, I can watch them, although I can't use my school's awesome T1 connection but my barely-better-than-dialup ISDN connection. :( Exactly what these last few sentences means as far as gaming, I have no idea.

Back to topic. I still can't believe what they get out of those GC discs. They really are masters of compression. I was thinking that Sony would have a pretty good advantage over the other two consoles in the next-gen as far as Blu-ray goes, but with what Nintendo is getting out of only like 1.5GB of space, I wouldn't be surprise if they were able to get a lot out of DVD type space in next-gen games. That would still be quite a task to perform, but it may be possible.

    That reminds me...

I read today that there are about 1 million pre-orders for Halo 2.
Although, considering this is really the 1st time I've ever seen the # of pre-orders for a game, maybe this isn't really as much as it may seem. The article I saw it at said it was the highest amount of pre-ordered copies for a video gamer ever, yet I also read that FFX had like 1.4-1.5 millions copies preordered in Japan, with 2.14 million copies that shipped at launch. Nevertheless, it definitly seems like people like their Halo. :)

    I can only wish. :(

If there was just Halo 2, I'd have at least something left in my wallet for Christmas. Unfortunately, there is so much stuff coming out the next few months it's impossible to keep up.

Halo 2, is of course a no-brainer, but then we have...

    GTA San Andreas
    Metroid Prime 2
    Metal Gear Solid 3
    Gran Turismo 4
    Nintendo DS

And those are just the 'big' ones. Not too mention all the other great quality stuff that's going to filter through, like Prince of Persia 2 or Kingdom Under Fire.

Hell, this upcoming week alone the new Mortal Kombat came out. Next week I have to find a way to check into both SMT: Nocturne and another must-buy for me, Paper Mario 2.

I hope no one is expecting any presents this year.:D

    Hmm...
Sorry, I couldn't resist it Rokkit. Although I would have posted this anyways since, like the article mentions, their have been reports of "analysts" saying that a PSP delay would be likely. (like here) Apparently, Sony seems to have basically set in stone a 2004 release for Japan. Also, one srange thing I've heard about the PSP is that it can connect to the Xbox, along with other devices. That seems kind of strange to me, but ok.

I believe today was the official unveiling of the DS or something like that. Here's an article.

Basically, it sound like it will retail at $149 (as I'm sure most people know) and the games will cost like $29. Mostly, it sounds like it will launch in the US with about 10-12 games, such as Super Mario 64 DS, Spider-Man 2, Madden NFL 2005, and The Urbz: Sims in the City. It sounds like they'll have a lot more in the coming months though. Additionally, I believe that Square-Enix announced FF3 for the DS. Sounds like a good move for the DS. Here are links to pages with pics of the DS and DS games (sites are in Japanese I think but you can still see the pics):
    http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/2004/10/07/103,1097132669,31995,0,0.html
    http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/2004/10/07/103,1097134596,32001,0,0.html
    http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20041007/nds1.htm
    http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20041007/nds2.htm
    http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20041007/ndsot.htm

In case you couldn't tell, it looks like they arranged the pics so that the top one of each game would be the top screen and the bottom one would be of the bottom screen of the DS. (EX: Metroid game has FPS view in top screen and map on bottom screen.)

In non-handheld news that I could think of at the moment, I saw that the first Xbox fitnesse retail games has shipped to retailers. I think I saw this on TV once. It sounds kind of interesting, although I'm not sure how it will work out. I think you basically have it set up a schedule and work out for you. I don't know, maybe it is cheaper to make a game with a JLO/Britney/Beyonce/Whoever look-a-like as an instructor than actually trying to get those celebrities to come out with an aerobics exercise themselves. Maybe someone here should check it out. ;)

Oh yeah, I've been hearing that those 1 mil preorders for Halo 2 were a bit premature and it was more like 750,000. Still a lot though...

Also, I definitly agree with Rokkit on the games that are about to come. I'm going to have to find some friends if I want to play each one I like since I doubt I'd be able to get the ones I'd want plus everything else I'd like to get. (IE: Rocket's tickets!) Guess I'm going to have to be a good kid from now on.

No problem, RC. Certainly I hope that it does happen; but I have adopted the same point of view for all the game companies: I'll believe it when I see it. So hopefully no delay happens, but it is unfortunately the norm.

And the DS is looking solid. It'll be a big Christmas for this thing. You should look into getting one, RC, if possible. Get you out of that whole 'one console' game :D and give you a chance to try a wider range of stuff. Every manager I've talked to from that vendor show is saying the thing is hot. :D

That's true about the game companies. In fact, I kind of proved that they stretch things a bit with the X-box sales a little earlier. I did hear somewhere though that Sony is normally pretty good at meeting what they say. I've only been paying mild attention for only a few months, but I heard that from somewhere. There are people who don't like it when the PS1/PS2/PSP/Whatever didn't meet some expectations, but I read that those expectations were normally made by people not from Sony. For example, I don't know if many people think that Sony said the PSP was as powerful, or moreso, than the PS2, but I don't think they ever really said that. A developer said something to that extent as well as the GT4:Mobile guys saying that their PSP game would be just like the PS2 version, but it seems like Sony themselves sticks to making statements not quite as bold. Of course, like I said, I haven't been reading statements from them all along, just going by what I heard.

Meh...I don't know why but the DS just doesn't quite appeal to me. The little touch screen thing I could care less about. If they could be creative with it, I could possibly change my mind, but it seems as though a lot of games just use it as an extra menu or map. The way Madden uses it sounds interesting; I'd like to see more of that.

Not too many of the games really appeal to me either. In fact, I wonder why people always mention the number of ports for the PSP considering it looks like there are a few N64 ports for the DS. (Mario 64, Mario Kart, etc.) Some of the games I could possibly want to play for the DS will also be on the PSP, probably with better graphics and whatnot. (Spider-man 2, NFSU, Dynasty Warriors.)

To me, the PSP game lineup is a lot better considering the games I like. The PSP lineup, especially the RPG part of it, looks good to me, and everyone knows how I like RPG's. Other games I'd like to play on the move would include NBA Street and THUG. I'd much rather play those games than some of the DS games. That's just my personal preference though. I also have been wanting to have a MP3 player, which the the PSP can provide along with being a movie player. (even though I doubt I'd use it THAT much, but it is a nice option.)

However, I don't even know if I'll get either one. I'm leaning towards possibly getting a PSP, but that would depend on several things. While I have been giving a lot of love towards the PSP in my posts, in reality, I still don't know if I personally would get one, especially since I'm not really much of a handheld gamer. With college coming up for me, I may start being more of one, which is why I'm considering getting one, but I still don't know how this will all work out. I can tell you right now that I'll probably won't be playing much of the DS at least for this year since I'd be too busy playing the awesome console games coming out pretty soon. :D

Maybe I'll just wait for the GBA 2...

    See, here's the thing...

...when you are 'loyal' to only one company, you are missing out terribly.

The XBOX was the last thing I got, because it didn't have enough games at first to interest me. As such, I couldn't possibly see how anything it did could appeal to me more than what the PS2/GC/PC combo could offer me.

Until, of course, I had one.

Same with Sony - they have some incredibly unique games. And particularly with Nintendo. I don't know if you ever notice this; but year in and year out, the Nintendo made games are consistently among the highest rated released. There's a reason for this.

I am of the 'if it's a good game, it's a good game' school of thinking. And this is particularly true when 'comparing' consoles and systems. I can understand the 'casual' guy - the ones who don't know much about it and only pick up the hyped game or the big sellers they hear about from other outlets. They don't usually want to spend the time or really have the experience to get into the depth of some games.

But the regular gamers; the guys who can appreciate quality - they are seriously being deprived when they limit themselves to one system. And I can tell a few things about you, just from your posts:

    1. You are a gamer. A guy who could appreciate good gameplay and quality and innovation in games. You know what a good game experience is like and how to identify it.

    2. You are way too loyal to one company. When you say that Sony 'basically good at meeting what they say', that tells me a lot. Sony has you perfectly under their wing; enough so that you dismiss anything else that doesn't come out from the system. Such as the DS; you say the games don't appeal to you....the problem is, we don't know anything about them yet. Anything Mario or Metroid is almost a safe bet to have great gameplay (if you go by pretty much everything else ever released under the franchise), but beyond that we don't know...so how can you say they don't appeal to you?

We know even less about PSP games than we do DS games.

Don't fall for their trap, RC. I beg you, bud; get yourself a system from more than one company. MS, Nintendo, PC...I don't care. You're missing out terribly.

There's some great stuff out there. You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't try it. :(

If I could have a GC, PS2, Xbox and 50 games for each, believe me I would. Heck, I'd even give the Phatom a shot when/if it comes out. But I can't quite do that at this point of my life. Instead, I have to judge games and consoles to see which one I would probably like better. I actually only buy a new like maybe 1-2 games a year for my PS2, with one usually being a Final Fantasy game. This year, I stepped it up a bit and will probably get around 7-8 or so if I'm lucky, but the majority of those I actually got from used game stores.

Plus, I'm not really sure how much will change if I got another console. My friend has all three, yet he hasn't touched anything except his PS2 in a while. He also is pretty much the same type of gamer as me except he is even more diverse as far as games go. (he can play action type games a little better than I can) However, if I ever saw a great game that I REALLY wanted to play for either GC or Xbox, I'd just go over to his house and check it out. Believe me, we spent a lot of time playing Halo and DOA. I just haven't found that game that has driven me to play it at his house yet, and it seems he hasn't really either.

As for the DS/PSP games, it is true that we don't know too much from either, yet when it comes to the ports, we can have a good idea. For example, if I thought Mario 64 was ok, I'm sure the DS version will be at least as good, just like how I thought the NBA Street and THUG games were ok. Again, if it is a good game, I'd love to play it regardless, like you said, but with each of these games costing about $30. I'd rather spend $30 on a game that I'm pretty sure I'd like, since I liked the console version better, than a game I will probably like. (if that makes any sense) Also, like I said, the PSP just appeals to me a little more with its MP3/UMD movie playing abilities. Of course, I also don't know if I'll get either one.

I've been "loyal" to Sony only because I like what they're doing. If they came out tomorrow and said that all PS2 games will now cost $80, the PSP will have 1 hour battery life and retail at $650, and that the PS3 will be delayed to 2010 and would have no HDD, backwards compatibility, and Blu-ray, I'd definitly would be questioning what Sony was doing. Yet they haven't done so yet. Instead, they're pouring billions into Cell in order to develop an entirely new type of console architechture, they're pouring billions into making sure Blu-ray will succeed and will also be backwards compatible with PS1 games, and they see online play as necessary. If they wanted to, I'm sure they could spend half as much money and make half as good products while probably doubling their profits, but they seem determined to keep that top spot and possibly even "kill off" their competitors. On the other side, I don't always like what the other companies a shot. When I see that Nintendo doesn't really care to go the online gaming route, or that Microsoft is claiming to have sold 20+ million units worldwide when it is actually only like 15.2 million, I don't know if I'd like to go their route. In fact, I saw something, which I'm sure was untrue given how stupid it was, but I read that someone from Nintendo took a shot at the PSP's battery life, saying how the TGS girls had to recharge the batteries every 2 hours. Considering they were running off of memory sticks, then the battery life has to really suck when it actually runs UMD's, which would drastically cut down the battery life. Yet we've seen reports of PSP's that lasted at least an hour. Like I said, I doubt this is true since it should have been better thought out, but if it was, then I think Nintendo made a mistake here.

BTW, I can't remember if I ever posted this but if it means anything, I do have a PC and play it quite often. I haven't really played much of anything since Doom 3, but I usually play games quite a bit on it. Maybe I'll find a good job in college in a few years and I can afford to get a Revolution/Xbox 2/PS3/GBA2/PSP with 20 games each, but as of now, I have to stick to renting games and buying used games that I am 90% sure I will like.

Thought I would post something of interest relevant to the topic

WORLD EXCLUSIVE: SECRETS IN SEATTLE - STUNNING NEW DS ANNOUNCEMENTS REVEALED!

Details of Nintendo top-brass presentations and unbelievable revelations inside!

13:04 As you must be aware by now Nintendo are holding a huge press conference in Seattle today and tomorrow to make a series of announcements about DS and reveal new details.

Well, check this out: we don't have to wait for the announcements to be made. We know them already.

After introducing the DS and discussing its innovative control methods including the touch screen and in-built mic, Nintendo president Saturo Iwata will drop the first of several awesome bombshells.

The DS's much-vaunted wireless features won't only let you play multiplayer games - you'll actually be able to download games and play them. Nintendo are calling this feature "Game Sharing", and it means that multiple DS owners will be able to play multiplayer using only one copy of the game.

This instantly obliterates the problems of everyone needing to have a copy of the game to play multiplayer, and makes Nintendo's boast that you'll be able to play 'anyone, anywhere' absolute truth. Nintendo plan to promote production of titles with this "Game Sharing" feature, and several early titles including Super Mario 64 DS and Daigasso Band Brothers will support it.

Revolutionary? Yes, and it gets better. Nintendo plan to implement downloadable demos to let you play time-restricted versions of games before you buy them. Initially it seems that this will be restricted to retail outlets.

And more? Yup. Plans are afoot to implement connectivity between the DS and the movie screen during showings of Pokemon movies. Iwata will discuss how DS owners with a GBA Pokemon game cart in their DS will receive bonus materials beamed straight to them!

It seems that DS's wireless capabilities are beyond anything we expected. As you can imagine, the potential for these kind of features is amazing.

After Iwata concludes his speech Shigeru Miyamoto will take to the stage and demonstrate a number of games including Nintendogs and Mario 64 DS.

He'll be joined by Yuji Naka, president of Sega's Sonic Team, who will demonstrate I Would Die for You (also known as Feel the Magic: XY-XX) and announce that a DS Sonic game is also in development.

This will be followed by a confirmation from Square-Enix that Final Fantasy III, previously only available on NES, will be coming to DS with overhauled visuals and new control features.

A new Pokemon game, called Pokemon Diamond, will be confirmed. Pokemon Dash, which is a Japanese DS launch game, will also be demonstrated, and the president of the Pokemon Company will show off how extra tracks can be unlocked by inserting GBA Pokemon game carts.

But the most exciting game announcement for Nintendo fans? We've heard that Miyamoto will confirm that a Legend of Zelda: Four Swords game is in production for DS.

Hopefully more details about this huge news will emerge at the presentation, and we'll keep you up to date.

So how's that? Awesome wireless revelations, stunning cross-platform connectivity, and the possibility of a new Zelda game to chow down on. Don't say we're not good to you.

    More info as it happens.

Hey now, let's not get crazy... :D

Yeah but look at what you're saying would have to happen before you have any disapproval of Sony...that's pretty extreme. And they aren't developing this technology for some great, benevolent purpose...I for one am not looking forward to having to replace my new DVD collection for a Blu-ray collection.

I, for one, would see their sketchiness about battery life and price and their assumption that a handheld system now needs to appeal to some different spectrum than just folks who want to play a handheld system (with said MP3 player, UMD player and likely high price) as more negative than positive.

One of the reasons they are placing it in the new PS2 is get the edge over that other 'next' gen DVD technology (which I forget at the moment); pure and simple. The hardware means nothing. They aren't doing that for you, necessarily. And every company is going to approach that hardware angle.

In addition, they all talk badly about the competition. Don't kid yourself into thinking Nintendo is the worse of this; in fact, they rarely do it at all and should do it more. Particularly in this market.

Though Microsoft is easily the best at 'trash talking' the competition. Some of their pr folks are real ****s. :)

They all do really bad things and make bad decisions. Hence why I don't believe in any kind of real loyalty to any of them, less it comes in form of the games.

Who knows...maybe I can be the 1st to buy it, realize how sucky it is, and then join the "Let's sue them" bandwagon. Of course, I don't think they'll have any money by the time I get to them.

They sounded extreme because I made them extreme. I was kind of joking when I said those things. Believe me, I wouldn't be fond of Sony if games cost $75 and the PSP cost $550 and had 1.5 hours of battery life. Sony can definitly lose my "loyalty" by doing some things though. I'll be a little more understanding in some things, but I certainly would have a problem with some things. For example, let's just say that They sell the PSP for $300 and it has like 5 hours of battery life, but they didn't offer any special bundles. I basically would have a problem with this and not want to pay an additional $100-$150 or so just to be able to save music, and play a few games which would need an extra battery pack. That would irk me. They could have screwed up and went with ATRAC as their audio format, as with most of their portable music players, but they caved in and decided to offer support there. As long as the conversion would have been easy, I wouldn't have had too much of a problem with that, but by supporting MP3's, they've made things a lot easier.

I think one of the biggest factors in my "loyalty" would be the PS3. Basically, I would like it to be backwards compatible, have a HD, and have a network adapter. They seem to have gotten the backwards compatibility in, but I really want a HD and network adapter in, especially if the competition does include these features. I feel that games could definitly take advantage of these features, but developers would be afraid to depend heavily on using them if they know not everyone may have it. I know Sony would probably lose money on the PS3 and would need to make it up by selling games and accessories, which would include some of the things I want built-in. However, I think they could make by with the lower costs of doing these. I'm sure they could afford to stick in a small 15-25 GB HD, which would really help on load times and whatnot, and then still offer a bigger HD for other things. (holding mods possibly) I'm curious to see how they handle some of these things. I've kind of gone off-track so let me get back on-track...

Well, I realize they don't plan on giving away all the technology they're researching; I'm sure they want to make a profit that would pay for all their R&D, and I'm sure they will do their best to do just that. On the other hand though, they are pouring billions into several projects that would change several aspects of our lives possibly. If they can get 4 PE's using Cell in the PS3 to actually perform 1TFLOPS, that would be quite an accomplishment. I doubt they would be able to do that, but is does sound like Cell will be used in several different devices including small things, like the PS3, TV's, DVD/Blu-ray players; to bigger things, such as some computers possibly; to even huge things, such as supercomputers, CGI studios, servers, etc. There is a reason that Toshiba, IBM, and Sony are spending so much on Cell and I think they see it a lot in our future. It looks like it could be a win-win situation, with those companies striking it rich and consumers like me experiencing awesome graphics and processing power from Cell.

As for the Blu-ray comment, you wouldn't have to buy you collection over again, especially if you don't really need to see the movies in HDTV. I probably won't buy too many Blu-ray movies, seeing as how I don't have a HDTV. I would say that it has the potential to be a lot cheaper than DVD's though. It would just take a little while until they become widely distributed, but the ability to make it out of cheaper materials and by creating them in fewer steps means that it could be cheaper than regular DVD's.

To be honest, I think movies would be one of the smaller benefits by Blu-ray. I see TV shows and possibly sports cashing in on the storage space of Blu-ray, where you could get every episode of the Simpsons on like 1 or 2 discs or you could get the Rockets entire season, play by play, on a disc or two. Personal storage would also be improved, obviously. And of course, our lovely part of life known as gaming. With the better storage space and higher transfer rates, games will be bigger and have smaller load times. I also thought I read somewhere that it adds better sound quality too, and I also read from someone who has seen Blu-ray that the sharpness and crispness of it compared to DVD was about the same between DVD and VHS. I don't know if it will be THAT noticeable, but it does add to the visuals. Whether or not people feel ok with DVD's, it seems like there are a lot of companies that want to cash in on the HDTV craze, so we are going to get a new disc format in a few years, be it HD-DVD, Blu-ray, or some other type. However, IMO Blu-ray sounds awesome and Sony, along with other companies, are trying to get it to the average person ASAP (and get a profit from it as well. ;)). I don't know exactly how much Sony had to do with Blu-ray but it sounds like they have done quite a bit with it. Had it not been for there R&D, we may possibly be talking all about HD-DVD and how awesome 30GB sounds on discs made of the same materials as DVD. Thanks to Blu-ray, we can be talking about 100's of GB's of storage, heavily scratch-resistant discs, and discs made of paper.

I realize that. In fact, I've been reading about someone from Sony saying that a lot of the DS games were "kiddie" or something like that, although that definitly does seem true to an extent. IMO, though, this seems like they are just trying to talk about that demographic thing again, saying that they are trying to appeal to a more adult group while they think the DS is more for "kids." However, that Nintendo quote seemed a lot different, especially since it seems like they are publically implying that they are competing witht the PSP. Of course, most people see it as a competition, but it seemed like both Sony and Nintendo were saying how they were both different products for different people. With the comment from Nintendo, though, it seems like they are attacking the other handheld, especially by using a statement that doesn't even seem to be remotely true.

I do agree with you about Nintendo needing to "talk up" more, especially from a marketing aspect. They're 2nd in the world in units sold, yet it seems like no one knows that. I also agree with your comment on Microsoft. I somewhat agree with your last sentence, although I find myself somewhat loyal to Sony for a reason that I can't seem to explain right now. Plus, this post is getting WAY too long for no apparent reason. Why? I don't know, but I am still continuing it for no apparent reason. Ok, I'm done...seriously...right now....I mean now..yeah.

I just want to say that I saw an AWESOME clip of Ace Combat 5 for the PS2. Check it out: (you'll need to download it through Flashget or something I think)
    mms://wm2.streaming.ne.jp/namco/opdemo.wmv

I always liked looking at pics from Ace Combat because they looked nice, but I never really considered the game aspect of it. I always thought it was probably some boring flight sim, but this clip makes it look awesome. Kind of seems like a movie actually.

Also, I was watching Pulse the other day and they had a segment on Red VS Blue. (in case you don't know, it is basically funny video clips using Halo soldiers...that are red and blue) I had completely forgot about how awesome that series was and had to download some of them yesterday. I had, at one time, some of the episodes but I think I accidently deleted them. They are definitly funny though. I have to finish up the whole collection pretty soon. :p

Speaking of Pulse, I still hate that show. I think the only reason I watch it is to see maybe 5 seconds of exclusive clips from certain events, but I still hate it. I like how they always seem to have that weekly PSP price rumor on the show, even though it was pretty much proven false like 12 hours after the rumor got started. But they'll still put it on the air. I also like how they took a quote from one of those analysts I posted about earlier, saying how the PSP could be delayed, yet they failed to mention the other stupid things in that article as well as the quote directly from Sony that said it would be released this year as planned.

Perhaps the biggest thing I hated about the show was not Sony related though. (can you believe it?;)) They had a little segment where they basically hated on Nintendo, saying how worried they were about it since it did so "bad" this gen and what they had to do to make a comeback next-gen. I just want to know what their definition of bad is though because apparently being 2nd in units sold and making a profit off of this gen isn't one of them. Maybe they should have lost 2-4 billion dollars like the Xbox to be considered a success? I don't know. I will say that I have some worries about Nintendo, but they did ok this gen. The only way I really see them being in trouble is if the DS bombs and the Revolution sucks. Even then, more then enough people would still like to play Zelda, Mario, Metroid, etc., so they are ok I guess, or at least they are compared to the company I am "worried" about. That's right, I'm talking about you Microsoft. I'm sure they're one of the only companies that could take the losses that the Xbox has put out and still keep going, but I'm wondering how much longer they will still go. I also wonder how the console games on a PC will work out. Blah..blah..blah..ok I'm done.

In other news, I finally got my preordered copy of ESPN NBA 2K5. Let this be a lesson to you: ESPN makes good games, but never, EVER preorder a game from their site. Thank you.
