2016- Game #6 of the Western Conference Finals between the Warriors and OKC. OKC had a 3-1 lead in the series before losing game #5 to still be up 3-2.

OKC had an 8 point lead with under 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter in game #6 (despite the Warriors hitting a barrage of 3's). Then with 1:40 left in the game (after the Warriors tied it at 101 and an elimination on the line for the Warriors) Westbrook fell apart.

    01:40 Westbrook Turnover : Lost Ball (2 TO) Steal:Iguodala (2 ST)
    K Thompson 3pt Shot: Made (39 PTS) Assist: Iguodala (1 AST) 01:35
    [GSW 104-101]
    01:23 Durant 3pt Shot: Missed
    K Thompson Rebound (Off:1 Def:3) 01:22
Curry Driving Layup Shot: Missed 01:01
    01:00 Roberson Rebound (Off:3 Def:5)
00:55.0 Westbrook Turnover : Out of Bounds Lost Ball Turnover (3 TO)
    K Thompson 3pt Shot: Missed 00:38.9
    00:37.9 Durant Rebound (Off:2 Def:5)
    00:35.9 Westbrook Turnover : Bad Pass (4 TO) Steal:Iguodala (3 ST)
Curry Driving Bank shot: Made (31 PTS) 00:14.3
    [GSW 106-101]
    00:14.3 Team Timeout : Regular
    00:12.9 Westbrook Turnover : Bad Pass (5 TO) Steal:Curry (2 ST)
00:10.1 Westbrook Foul: Personal Take (2 PF) (D Stafford)
00:08.8 Durant Foul: Personal Take (4 PF) (2 FTA) (E Malloy)
    K Thompson Free Throw 1 of 2 (40 PTS) 00:08.8
    [GSW 107-101]
    K Thompson Free Throw 2 of 2 (41 PTS) 00:08.8
    [GSW 108-101]
    00:08.8 Team Timeout : Short
    00:07.9 Durant Turnover : Lost Ball (3 TO) Steal:Barnes (2 ST)
    End of 4th Quarter

4 Westbrook TOs in the final 2 minutes of a tie game and OKC doesn't score another point. Of course the Warriors go on to win Game #7 to move on to the Finals.

Why was this significant to today? Because if that doesn't happen and OKC beats out the Warriors to move onto the Finals then Durant most likely doesn't join Golden State. Westbrook never has his breakout trip-dub season last season and Houston doesn't counter with Chris Paul this year. All because of Westbrook.

    The Russell hate is strong!

How can a rivalry stem from something that has nothing to do with the Rockets?

This is a reach beyond reach.

Lol if presti simply traded wb for parts instead of harden then okc would be a dynasty now

And the animosity really started with that draymond foul when we were raining 3s on them

If we didn't have the beard, GS would be LOL at the thought of us being rivals.....even without Durant.
