Tarik is plenty good enough defensively and for his role. His issue is offense and his chemistry with harden. High motor high defense low offense guy at the 5 is plenty good enough for his backup backup role. Likewise, an offensive 4th guard who’s bad at defense with high iq is good enough for the same role but at the guard spot. Mike is just much more offensive minded, so the last 2 games when Tarik wasn’t clicking offensively he got yanked. His defense was good enough both games, but not offensively. So specifically, his lack of offensive understanding led to like 2-3 straight turnovers when involving him. Being down so much mike pulled the plug. But if you reference his huge 4th 3 games ago, he was doing his part in the offense correctly and this exploded and played the entire quarter. His defense with the offense was amazing fo a bench guy. But his offense just isn’t consistent enough and he lacks the understanding of the system. I thought Canaan would be that 4th guard but mike didn’t like what he seen. Hoping Troy comes off his injury and earns some trust like last year to sp lol a few minutes for the wings. Injuries reeeaaally suck
