That rural population will continue to evolve as well, they are just slower to gain enlightenment....

The position that removal of trump is negating the will of the voters in 2016 has to be the most incredibly stupid argument the GOP is making. The voters will was realized when he was elected. No one made him or his team break the law or perform impeachable acts after he was inaugurated.

I'm not even talking about "evolution," which is a pretty condescending word to use. The concerns of rural Americans are different than urban Americans. But to perpetuate a system where the political issues and needs of <1M Americans can effectively outweigh those of tens of millions of people due to every state having two senators will continue to break our system from within. I don't know what the solution is, but we're not barreling toward a more efficient future.

The GOP got two Supreme Court justices, a hefty tax cut for the wealthy and scores of federal judges out of 2016. Anybody who thinks removing Trump would negate that must think that Kansas City is in Kansas.

It is condescending. But slavery, genocide of American Indians, not allowing women to vote, Jim Crow, stop and frisk, longer prison sentences for black people for the same crime is the same mentality that doesn’t want to let gay people get married. And when small minded people “evolve” to get out of that mind set we all win. It’s just a slow process as was stated.
For example Bigtexxx’s grandchildren may actually become good people one day. joking joking

The rural population is slowly being moved out and corporate farms are taking over which the billionaire class owns - once the tipping point hits there, they will realize they have been played - and will come around to voting for their own best interests instead of the Propaganda class.

And once the Greatest generation also the most racist generation dies off - it will change in a HURRY....

I am beginning to believe that Trump and his allies have a huge dossier on most of the republicans in congress.

I have no idea why Ernst is out here embarrassing herself she should be pretty stable in her post.

The stuff that is gonna come out in the next 5 years is gonna be mind boggling.

Not true they will rebrand their party after Trump is gone. I can see it nowThe party of fiscal responsibility. That is until they get in power again. They do what they always do manipulate people.

Manchin must be doing this as cover for his intention to break with Democrats and vote for acquittal...

The main bullets of Manchin's censure bill...

In other words, the two articles of impeachment.

And yet, the math doesn't exist to get that bill passed... and so the outcome would be... cover for Manchin and republican senators that vote to acquit.

No way Trump will go for that on his “perfect call”. It could be a trap for the gop. Let’s see if they are cowards and bend over for the president yet again.

Manchin's censure cover appears to be failing (for trump)... wonder if Joe will get a special visit to the white house for this?

Also when the founders wrote the Constitution there were no term limits so they understood that the impeachment could be used for a President facing re-election.

I don’t really know What Manchin’s motivation. Is and maybe he does feel that if there’s not going to be a conviction he might as well not stick his neck out. That said he’ll go down to as someone who admits what Trump is doing is wrong but not have the political courage to take the necessary steps.

at this point even while Trump and his defenders will crow about his bipartisan acquittal there are still several Republicans who have acknowledged Trump’s wrong doing and while not official have basically expressed censure.

His motivation is that he doesn't want to get primaried in 2024 because he knows his vote will be remembered
