Let's just put this to a vote and get it over with because you know someone was going to do it eventually.

I'm voting for the trade with Golden State option. I would ask for next year's 1st round pick, gaurenteed. GS would probably take Jay Williams, with Yao Ming being their other possible choice. Then the Bulls select the player the Warriors passed on, leaving the Rockets to select Butler or Dunleavy at #3 or the chance to trade down again.

First Option: Take Ming. Teams don't often get this chance.

Option Two: Trade #1 to Chicago; Chicago sends Fizer to Houston and #2 to Golden State; Golden State sends #3 and Troy Murphy to Houston. Chicago gets Ming; Golden State gets Williams; Houston gets Dunleavy, Fizer and Murphy. Then Houston trades Fizer to N.Y. for #7 and Murphy and Collier to Clips for #8.

Result for the Rockets is: Dunleavy (#3); Stoudemire (#7); and Marcus (#8) and Jeri Welsch (#15).

    C - Cato, Marcus, Stoudemire
    PF - Taylor, Griffin, Thomas
    SF - Rice, Dunleavy, Morris
SG - Mobley, Torres, Walt Williams
    PG - Francis, Norris, Welsch

The rookies could be developed as time permits. We have real strength if injuries and migraines occur.

That's a very complex trade, and would be extremely hard to do.

Parting with Ming would be harder, tearfully harder.:(

Golden State gives us the best chance at the #1 next year...the obvious choice in 2003 is LeBron James...plus we get out SF this year.
