I'm not going to overreact to how any of our young guys play. The playoffs are a different beast, and experience goes a long way. Hence why my disappointment starts and stops with FVV.
Happy Monday. I hear ya, man - The PTSD from GSW is real, and it hits us all differently. Jalen deserves a large portion of the blame, but you áre right there is plenty of blame leftover for most of the team. If Ime does not make adjustments and the backcourt, including Amen, do not turn it around, CF is going to be a **** show on Wednesday night. Salud, Tom
another stupid take considering the Rockets offense were stifled for all of the second quarter even when Jalen was out.
Talk to me 5 years from now. Last time we were in the finals some on this board wasn't even born. We gotta do it and stop coming up with excuses every year that's all I'm saying.
Cade relies on his skills, which are more important than pure athleticism. Jalen can run and jump but he doesn't really have the skills to keep up.
Thats funny cuz Lebron and MJ won a ring at age 28. You basically want Sengun to outperform the goats by 5 yrs.. Just cuz we werent in the finals for the last 2 decades doesnt mean you blame it on Jalen and co. Were they here playing for the last 20 yrs? No right? Why is it their fault? Jalen only been here for 4 yrs you wanna blame him because Rox hadnt been to the finals since before he was born. Does he carry some sort of Rockets Finals sin in the womb or something?
it's weird cause jalen has pretty good handles but he has no idea when to attack when using those handles. it's often just a bunch of dribbling in one spot and then stepping back while cade uses his handles to simplify his game to lose the defender. like how often do we see jalen cross someone over? it's such a blue moon event. guys like Anthony edwards and Cade do it every game.
Jalen is what he is. He's not going to be a star player or the guy you rely on to carry your offense. I think his ceiling is high level role player or maybe a 3rd option on a championship contender. He had the best year of his career this season and he's still a below league average offensive player. If they are going to keep him around I think they've got to start prioritizing other players like Jabari. They've also got to see what Reed and Cam can do with real minutes every night. Jalen doesn't do enough for you on offense and it's part of the reason we are so poor on that end of the floor. Too much of our offense is being run through an inefficient player. I believe they're either going to need to find a player or players to push him farther down the offensive totem pole or trade him.
Having a mindset of winning right now is better than just wasting the opportunities and putting it on development. I understand in most situations it takes time to win championships. But when the opportunity presents itself go all in. Sam Cassell was a rookie with us. Magic Johnson... Tim Duncan... the list goes on. It's not one particular player with the Rockets it's about a mentality to not accept less due to being too young and inexperienced. Think bigger and do more. Nothing is easy. GS could be beat if we lock in.
Ime: ok, we're going to let Jalen hunt for and destroy Curry, we'll clear out one side for him and let him do his thang. Kerr: lol, sure, we're not even going to bother sending help cause Jalen can't even shake our worst defender. Holy ****, talk about tunnel vision in that first play, 2 people open on the perimeter and he decides to take a contested 2 which he is terrible at anyway.
No need 30 pts, I will already be very happy if he can score above 10 with a shooting percentage over 40% next game. That's how low my expectation for him is right now. CC and him are no longer at the same level.
Shares a clip that says the Warriors didn't need to help on Jalen - clip has Draymond sitting in the paint shadowing Jalen and guarding no one on the Rockets. Like it's literally right there - the more accurate story is the Warriors are absolutely scheming against Jalen but they are daring him to hit outside shots or find his teammates and he sucks at both of those things. Since I went through the trouble of charting Jalen's misses earlier today:
