The end was when Tmac missed that dunk against the Bucks, gave up on that play in Toronto, and then had microfracture surgery. It got worse when Yao broke his foot in the Lakers series and Artest left. I can't remember historically when a team lost all their main pieces so quickly. I guess you can say the Bulls did when Jordan retired the second time but that was elective. I really wish Yao the best but it's hard to watch and not cringe when he takes every step. We have a fragile backcourt to add to the madness. Is it me or does Kmart looks like he's about to break something whenever he draws a foul and falls? Sigh.....

Exactly! I loved the passion of Landry and Scola together. I can't forget Yao's heart and Artest's grit. I even miss the high flying Von Wafer because he would bring Toyota Center to their feet. The only sore that season was T-Mac breaking down. Sigh.....

They are last or second to last in rebounding this season.

Rebounds = fight, effort, and heart

I know I don't have many posts, but I watch the rockets and read clutch fans often, and this is a changed team. I couldn't agree with OP more.

    Fixed.

With Miller there no Yao at 100% and Hill playing little minutes you will get low rebounds.

Last year, there was no yao, no miller, no hill until the last half of the season. granted we had landry, but that doesn't make up account for everything ...were we last then?

We were a poor rebounding team, especially against longer teams like Denver and LA.

This team is just so disapointing. No fire. Honestly, I haven't been this disinterested in a Rockets team in a long time.

6 years since the Rockets had one of my favorite rosters of all time. They had HEART, and HUSTLE, and FIRE.

Management got rid out of the perceived knucleheads: Artest, Wafer, Ariza. Those guys were a bit high maintenance, but nobody could deny that they brought a certain passion to the game that is glaringly missing.

What we have now is a soft team, made of good character people, more suitable for a boyscott club. Morey has to take some blame for this.

our team still hustles, I just think last year there was a mentality of "us against everyone" or something because Yao was going to be out, Tmac was going to be out, and so everyone down the line knew coming into that season that they were going to get their shot and it was up to them.

Its funny how much expectation affects everything.

This season was different. This season Yao was coming back. This season there were going to be inconsistent rotations and substitutions to begin the season. This time people didnt know what their roles would be night to night, but they knew Yao was healthy and going to play. Less pressure, less focus. This time things were supposed to be better, so a bit of that junkyard dog attitude flew out the window because there was going to be a small silver platter just handed to the team.

I'm not saying any of this was thought willingly or consciously, it just seems natural. Once we lost that first game to LA, then had a back-to-back and lost it, and then Yao got hurt... sorry... I wanted to go into a corner and cry, lol. All this hope and expectation as a fan... and I know as a player youre trained and told that you cant just expect, but cmon... Yao was coming back!!!!

Last year our guys were motivated and hungry, but knew who they were and what they had and could only go so far.

This year they were promised a treat, told there was going to be a feast, the media pretty much said Houston was a shoe-in for the playoffs with Yao back and so BAM...

no players were starving, they had their appetizer before the season even started. Now we're 3-8. lame.

Man what a great picture. Truly would love to still have those 3 on this team.

To think that wasn't even to long ago either......

There was a time last season when the Rockets won 3 out of 10 games.

When the Rockets hit the skids, Landry AND Ariza was here. The same knee jerks in this forum wanted to get rid of Aldeman and kept criticizing Morey.

I wonder where we'd be if Morey was a knee jerk??
