This is telling. Figured this was the best thread to post it. http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/t...ean-hannity-uses-glenn-beck-s-protest-footage
Bless their hearts. They're mad and can't take it any more. They just don't want to blame their corporate masters. It is a lot easier to blame immigrants and others who are even worse off than them. Also of course they are just a lottery ticket away from being millionaires like Glen Beck and Sean Hannity.
Sean Hannity's reply... http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-november-12-2009/sean-hannity-apologizes-to-jon
I apologize for not participating in my thread for long stretches, mostly because of tea party organizational work and to a lesser extent due to health issues. Many of you seem to think the tea parties are "imploding." Nothing could be further from the truth. My group has gotten too big for me to handle -- twice now. We are no longer as interested in "protest" tactics as we are in organizing at the precinct levels in both parties. I think ya'll will see the results in the local and state 2010 elections.
Oh, I think from Thumbs point of view things are ok. He seems to have a group that is different from what is being reported on the news.
MC, how could you post this story without noting its sister account, "Former Tea Party Leader Says Ex-Comrades Are Suing Her," and more importantly the photo accompanying that article, of the above-mentioned Ms. Kremer: Forevermore, she shall be known only as the "Tea Party Princess."
going underground? Makes sense, those public displays of racist hate were just getting out of hand huh?
How is working at the precinct level going underground? We are working in the trenches, where all politics ultimately are won or lost. One aspect of your post does bother me. Why must you refer to anybody who has a differing from you as a racist? It shows a real weakness in your thought process.
Really? You don't see any racist iconography at any of the tea party marches? None of these placards seen at tea party rallies seems in any way racist to you? It is all just mc mark and his irrational hate? mc mark is just lashing out at the things he doesn't agree with? All these poor artists are just misunderstood?
MCMark is automatically labeling all of them as racist. Just like all protesters on the left aren't socialists who hate America, not all teabaggers are racist.
Let's parse, shall we? "Getting out of hand" indicates actions by a subgroup not approved of by the leadership. Mc mark's words necessarily don't label everybody involved a racist, otherwise there would be nobody to think it was "getting out of hand", and no reason to cease public activity. For instance, when the KKK marches, nobody says, "Guys, I think this racist hate is getting a bit out of hand. Lets tone it down a bit, all right?" This occurs because for practical purposes everybody at a KKK rally is a racist and therefore can not understand what is offensive about their message.
Fair enough. I agree with you and mark that it's just a subgroup not approved by the leadership of the teabaggers.
Sorry thumbs, while your group may have done so, I don't think the Tea Partiers as a whole have moved on from protest to organizing... http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.co...-vows-to-burn-pelosi-and-perriello-in-effigy/ WASHINGTON (CNN) – The organizer of a "Tea Party" protest in Virginia says he intends to move forward with plans to burn House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Tom Perriello in effigy next weekend at a rally to protest Democratic health care legislation. The event is scheduled for next Saturday in Danville, which borders North Carolina and sits at the southern end of Perriello's congressional district. Perriello, a Democrat, narrowly won his House seat in 2008 and is considered a top target of Congressional Republicans in next year's midterm elections. ... It seems protest is still the theme of the day. For what it's worth, I'm starting to agree with you that this health care bill is becoming a big pile o' crap that shouldn't pass (probably for different reasons though).
Things are getting interesting with this whole "movement": http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/6722358.html Perhaps the Republican plan of instigating this whole "Tea Party Patriot" business could backfire. But then again, I don't really think any of these candidates will get any significant portion of the vote.
