i think the general concensus is that Hou-NYC thinks he is an expert and his commentary conveniently fits however the team plays, whether its poorly- we hear it "straight"

or when we are gelling- "the era has begun"

forgive me New Yorker, I wanted to stick up for you, but basically you were a negative poster for so long nobody is buying your positivity.

its like the boy who cried wolf, I know I can be negative as well sometimes but it is usually in direct reference to what someone POSTS, not how the team is playing...

is anyone making sense of this?

My Position hasn't changed from my view.

If Yao plays with the heart he did last game, and I'm not talking about the points. I don't care about him shoting 13 for 14 or 7 for 19 to be honest. That's not what it's about.

What's it about to me? When he dived for a lose ball and got called for the foul. He went after that ball with heart. That's what I want to see. Play with passion. That's all I ask from the guy - that's my position. If Yao plays with that kind of heart, diving and going after rebounds with reckless abandon, I'll love the guy. I watch the games, and he rarely did that during the regular season....and he didn't do it in game one.

Now, I'll admit that my style of writing pisses a lot of people off, so I accept the hate that gets directed toward me...I have no right to complain. But it's kinda sad ya know. The day I praise Yao, I get called a bandwagon fan...it's like you guys can't accept that I really wasn't a Yao hater. But oh well, such is life.

Since you don't have a clue, let me spell it out for you.
You can criticize Yao when he has a bad game. That is not a problem, at least not for me. Yao had plenty of bad games.

What gets me is when you question the man's heart. That is totally BS. Not being able to grab a rebound does not mean he does not have heart. It just means he physically can not move his feet and grab the rebound. How is it so hard to understand?

    [mount soapbox]

on behalf of the homers...I resent that.

The word homer should not be construed as a insult...it isnt...what it really means is "a fan of the home team"

in this...I am a homer...I will always be a fan of the HOUSTON teams...be it Rockets, Texans or Astros...hell..I even want the Aeros and Comets to do well...

    why?

Cause I am a Houstonian...and I like sports...and I dont go cheering for some other team just cause my home team isnt doing well...

That is what a homer is...a fan who is always loyal to his home teams no matter what........it doesnt mean I am blind to problems on my teams...not by a longshot..but I just dont get a thrill from whining and b****ing about them all the time

You wanna throw out labels and insults....at least direct them to the right parties...the ppl that are jumping on you are mainly Yao fans that took offense to you bashing on Yao....the few others that dont fit that description are just regular fans that are calling you on your sudden positivity..whether it is warranted or not...I wont and cant say...

    [/dismount soapbox].

Stop insulting the guy. He can move...he's not some special child ok?

I questioned heart. Too bad it pissed you off. That's not my problem or issue.

By homer i mean who are incapable of criticizing their team.

I'm not interested in getting into a semantic argument with you.

You are right, that is not your problem. Your problem is that you are not so smart.

Have you ever carried 300 lbs on you? You don't know jacks about what a big man can or can not do.

You questioned heart, I question brain! :)

You know, I have posted numerous positive things, they just don't get remembered.

Anyway, that's why I can care less what the general consensus is. It's really too bad that I can't make a positive post without getting hounded by the 40 hate-mongers out there, but so be it.

I don't think you should stick up for me...especially when you are attacking me with the other hand. Frankly, i don't want people to stick up for me, i want people to focus on the topic at hand and discuss the facts without making it personal. That's what separates me from the people who are posting here. They took the Yao stuff personally...not realizing that it's not a personal thing with me. I don't hate Yao, they just choose to think that because it makes it easier to hate me...it's a cowardly way to think ya know? But maybe i will go, because I am tired of this stupid b.s. petty personal attacking that no one would have to guts to do to someone's face. Being a Rockets fan the way I want to be one clearly doesn't jive with people here.

There's nothing wrong with Yao's brain.

I suggest you stop your vile psycho mission to insult me. really, i'm not looking to get into this kind of stuff....i'm too old for it. If you have something to say about the content of what I write, great, if you have a problem with me, just put me on your ignore list ok? I'm so sick of you hate mongers.

    What? Being a Rockets fan?

You're the type of fan that nobody wants around here Houstonian...you've bashed Houston, it's fans, and most of the Rockets since you've been here and now they're doing well it's "hey the Yao and Mcgrady era"
Maybe if you weren't such a pompous ass when you were proclaiming Yao a bust and not even giving him a chance to develop you might be taken seriously.

You know, you're right, you should have your moniker changed

    Fraud-in-NYC

That fits you to a T.

    I'll go next.

This little statement with Clutch doesn't cast you too well in my book.

    Add me to the list.

I admit I am pretty surprised that people would react to statements on what I think about Yao with personal attacks because I expect some level of class here...I guess thats the only way some people feel they can respond...but I don't plan on changing - I don't think I've written anything that's not honest.

I've really have tried to stay away from personally attacking someone, and I plan to be even more vigilent about that now despite yours and other's actions. I refuse to drop down to that level.

It's not so much your Yao insults as it was about Houston and it's fans. I love this city and if you don't think I'd take your 'I moved to NY from Houston, and the city and fans suck' posts personally, then you're really stupid to say the least. I got to love your "I really don't care what I say, I'm not going to change." stance...that's what everyone says before they get banned. Please, keep it up, you won't be missed...
