Come on, guys. We are on riding and stop such fights between fans, no matter good-weather fans or bad-weather fans.
Agree. This pic is added to show our high spirit. (From SI: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mu...05/04/22/gallery.nba.playoffs/content.11.html)
weeelll.. Considering there are well over 15000 members here...and the ppl whining and complaining early on probably number less than 50...Id say that there are alot of them. You only see the vocal minority...youcant assume they speak for everyone....they dont. Alot of them dont find it worth their time to try to convince the whiners to change their tune.
yeah R2K is dead on, there are a few who will find something to b**** about every single second they're on CF. I used to get extremely annoyed and try to counter every idiot making some stupid post, but it began to wear on me, so I just started ignoring things, which I think a lot of "good fans" started doing as well. 3 years ago DavidS and R2K and some others were all over the place tring to prevent this place from becoming a 24/7 Yao sploogefest, nowadays they post less (or I think they post less)
yes...I post much less these days....and normally when I post it is video related. I tried to make a impact by tryin to combat the idiocy...but it just irritated me and made me not want to come here anymore. So i make my contribution in other ways these days. Sometimes, Ill bother to type up something real...but those are few and far between...just like a lot of other longtime members. Notice how few pre-2002 members post regularly? Its a shame really....there are plenty of good post-02 posters...but they are drowned out by the noise... Props to you guys that are here everyday doing your part to keep it real and positive.
I had the exact same experience. Sometimes I get too excited and still have to post in here about the Rox, but it is just too hard to get involved in some of the less than worthwhile discussions. That being said, I still read the boards a lot, and believe that we have some of the best posters on basketball out there. I still believe that most fans are team oriented, and truly do like the Rockets. At the same time a lot of other posters can actually express my thoughts more succinctly, and clearly than I can, so I don't need to post just to prattle on. I know that is hard to believe, but it is true.
DavidS, thanks for making your post for revealing the real face of Hou-in-NYC. I liked the title of his post, but when I saw he was the OP, I almost puke.
Dont worry guys...its only gone for a short time. After the finals, there will be the post season. And we will have another hundred crazy "realgm" trade threads.
I'm not going to apologize that I am not a blind worshipper, but doesn't mean i haven't followed the team for over 20 years - every season, every up and down. So to anyone who calls me a bandwagon fan, you're an idiot. I've gone to Rockets games in New York, Philly, and NJ, into hostile crowds...and rooted for the Rockets openly in NY bars in '94 and had bartenders refuse to serve me because I had a Rockets cap on. You bet it killed me to see a hlaf empty-arena back in 1994 when the Rockets were in the freakin 2nd round of the playoffs! You know coming from Houston I've heard the rap Houston gets AROUND THE COUNTRY - "Houston is a bad's sports town", "Houston's a fair-weather city"...and what am I going to say when we're watching the game and the arena is half-empty!!!! THEY ARE RIGHT! It's been my team for longer then some of you have been alive. I remember 15 win seasons as well as the 58 win season. Frankly, I don't give a damn what you guys write about if I am a bandwagoner or a troll or a downer. I didn't become a fan in 2002, i just found this site at that time.
NewYorker: I don't have any problem with you calling Houston a lousy sports town -- particularly with regard to basketball. I think you're dead right about that. You were flat wrong about Yao though. You might have already done this, but saying "I was stupidly, embarassingly wrong about Yao and I'm glad I was" would go a long way. In fact, even if you have said it already, it bears repeating. You talked a ridiculous amount of smack against Yao. No surprise people are calling you bandwagon for cheering him now.
I was wrong, but I don't think I off-kilter in saying Yao wouldn't be an all-star his first year - the guy was terrible in the beginning. Frankly, I think a lot of people here just want the pleasure of rubbing it in my face, and I'm not going to give it to them...if they are going to hold a grudge about it, too bad. As for Yao playing with no heart, well he didn't until last night. If he plays with heart, regardless of the points and rebounds, I will not have any issues with him, just like I never had issues about Francis. People forget one thing...I've never said "please trade Yao". I'm only asked that he played with heart. He did it, and I'm happy. If he stops, i will be back on him.
Originally posted by Houstonian-in-NYC I don't hate Yao ming, I just don't like people who play without heart. http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=94881&perpage=30&pagenumber=18
