OH MY GOD! Seriously though, I don't know if it is high comedy or THE most entertaning forum full of nutjobs on the net.
Not real... wiki [rquoter]The Landover Baptist Church is a fictional[1] Baptist church based in the fictional town of Freehold, Iowa. The Landover Baptist web site and its associated Landoverbaptist.net Forum are a parody of fundamentalist Christianity and the Religious Right in the United States. Origin The site was created by Chris Harper, who obtained his Master's Degree in English Literature from George Mason University in 1993 after being expelled from Liberty University (founded by Jerry Falwell) in 1989 for producing a satirical radio show which Liberty's administration found offensive. Harper frequently appears at atheist conventions playing the character of "Pastor Deacon Fred Smith". The website is owned by a company called Americhrist, Ltd.[/rquoter]
I don't believe this is all real. You can even tell by some of their Avatar. I mean who would post a stereotypical inbred messed up looking Avatar as themself? Look at this guy reply to the guy who outright told them what FAB stood for: I see an inside joke right there. http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=37578&page=2
Also, Sinners, you're always just a click away from http://www.sexinchrist.com/ when visiting sites like this one. Too much fun...

When I initially read this thread, I think that I confused Landover Baptist Church with Westboro Baptist Church. I suspect Landover is a direct parody/satire of Westboro and its raison d'etre. Westboro Baptist Church [rquoter]The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) is an Independent Baptist church and hate group known for its hatred of gays. It is headed by Fred Phelps and located in Topeka, Kansas, United States. Its first public service was held on the afternoon of Sunday, November 27, 1955. The WBC is not affiliated with any known Baptist conventions or associations. The church describes itself as following Primitive Baptist and Calvinist principles, though mainstream Primitive Baptists reject the WBC and Phelps. The group is best known for its protest activities, which include picketing funerals and stomping on the American flag.[/rquoter]
The creator of the site has a book called Welcome to Jesusland. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0446697583/landoverbaptist
