Don't get me wrong, I love the Texans, but sometimes I regret it. I get too emotionally involved in a game, and it hurts to lose. Pretty much makes my whole week suck when the Texans lose. I am a season ticket holder and I am just frustrated with the mediocre we have for a team every year. I just want something done by the management to light a fire under the coaches and players.

Very true. I'd rather have 20 years of 0-16 than nothing at all.

It's just sad that this is all we have to cling to after 8 years...

For 3 years the Texans, have finished strong after their season was done for all intents and purposes.

09 started 5-7 effectively done, then went 4-0
08 started 3-7 effectively done, then went 5-1
07 started 5-7 effectively done, then went 3-1

I plead for Texans fans to not get excited when this team crawls back to 8-8 or 9-7. we deserve better than mediocrity. And that's all this regime is.

the difference is...this schedule down the stretch is pretty tough. and we seem to be a worse team than we were last year. i really don't think they're going to win a bunch of games down the stretch.

I think he's making the point that the Texans seem to play better once the pressure if off. I've been saying that for years.

i hear ya...i just don't think they're going to beat these teams. maybe i'm wrong and they'll do it again.

but having to overcome or change from having one of the worst defenses in NFL history? i don't see that happening enough for them to beat the caliber of teams that are left on this schedule.

Mark my word, te Texans will pull off one upset against the Jet,Ravens, or Eagles.

    They'll split with the Titans

And they'll beat Denver, and Jacksonville to close out the season finishing 8-8

They might even get to 9-7, but for changes sake, i hope you're right about them not getting there.

It was until they won back to back games.

with the way Orton throws the ball around, I'd be very hesitant to say they'll beat Denver.

i think they've been very, very fortunate to win 4 games, frankly. i think they'll beat J-Ville. I have zero confidence they'll beat anyone else.

I wouldn't fret over their final record - barring a 6-1 finish, I think Kubiak is gone (or McNair will keep him but impose huge restrictions on him, assuming the lockout scares McNair enough to not want to jettison Kubiak and pay another guy to not coach his football team).

You really think he's gone? with 9-7 or 8-8? With one year left on his deal, the labor situation all muddy, and no obvious replacement ready and willing?

6-1...That's what we'll HAVE to do the rest of the way to have a shot at the playoffs and for Kubiak to keep his job.

I'm especially amused by the utter lack of production from Houston's 2010 draft class.

 Hard to say too much on that. Yes, Kareem has been garbage - but so has Kyle Wilson with the Jets, and CB is a position that notoriously has a steep learning curve. The second-round pick, Tate, was a freak injury - couldn't possibly have seen that coming. From the third, Earl Mitchell has been so-so as a pass-rushing DT; certainly not great, but serviceable - hard to complain about that as a rookie.

I have lost faith in Kubiak but ...

Bringing in a defensive coordinator that is competent and can develop players may not be a bad move for McNair. The defense needs to be fixed. The offense not so much.

Cat touched on Kareem and Tate. Although I will add that I think Earl is going can be a bigger contributor as time goes along.

Sharpton, imo will be a quality backup LB. Not earth shatterting but you need these type of guys.

Garrett, I think will be servicable when given the opportunity...think Dreessen esque

    Smith - no idea

Holliday, a reach but not a bad gamble.

Dickerson will be a player sooner or later. He just needs more time. I think he can be a solid #2/3 guy.
