Ok I am a Redguard named Hakeem Olajuwon. I did a custom class which is basically like a Knight, but instead of having speechcraft as one of the 7 major skills I have Security, and instead of armorer, I have REstoration. I called the class Dreamknite. Spelling it the proper way wouldn't fit, but that is what I am. I tried to manipulate the face as much as possible to make it look like Hakeem, and I failed. While experimenting with it, I was able to see that I could have easily made him look like Scottie Pippen. I am playing on the PC and I like it a lot. The only bug I have is that when I use the mouse scroll wheel, the slider goes down to the bottom automatically and it won't click on some screens. I just don't use the scroll wheel anymore. I can't wait until work is over so I can go back and play more.
Check out Mass Effect and Dragon Age (although that one appears to be PC only at the moment). I think they also more or less confirmed a Jade Empire sequel, although it wasn't mentioned which system it would be on. I think Obsidian (who made KOTOR 2 IIRC) will be making any new KOTOR games. I think LucasArts has them doing the series now.
Sorry to de-rail, but how was KOTOR 2? I liked the original, and was, for some reason, hesitant about the sequal.
Sequal was even more amazing then the first... if you can beleive that. I'd pick it up if I were you, I'm sure you can score a copy for under 15 bucks used now.
Cool thanks. Once my Oblivion play goes from every available waking hour, to just half of them, I will pick up the KOTOR 2.
my brother got it and i will be visiting very soon to play some...been looking at this game for a long while and i couldnt wait.
Pretty good, basically more of the same but a lot more bells and whistles and the new "influence" thing thrown in for your interactions with your other characters.
Not that this is mae or break for me getting it, but is there any type of online play for the PC version?
Nope. I'm pretty sure that the devs have said that ES games are single-player games only. That philosophy might change later, but for now, these games are offline only (well, unless you count mods and stuff).
There is no online play for Oblivion. There is a way for people to create their own areas/dungeons/ etc. Some of those you can download and play, but you can not play Oblivion with other live humans. It is single player only.
why the **** did I buy this game? I mean seriously the game is so amazing I have just been sitting here all day wanting to go home and play it. This is not good.
I like the action RPG, you have to have some skill besides acquire good weapons and stuff. i dont like turn baded where you choose some action, then the computer does it. i like pressing the buttons to slash people up.
well then tinman this is the PERFECT game for you. No one part is turned based it is basically a complete action-RPG.
is it too complicated? i dont want to pick up the game and turn into Stromile Swift. i dont like slow games either, I dont want a Juwan game. I want a Hakeem/Maxwell type of game. Skill and excitement.
Up for a 10 minute breath of air. One of the nice things about the game is that you can play it however you want. You can completely ignore the quests if you want and just kill stuff. My character just got infected with Vampiric Porphyria and once he turns into a vampire the idea of doing anything but wholescale killing of stuff is pretty much impossible. Alternately, you can get all into all of the goofy quests and run around the whole world picking flowers if that's what you want. There are even enough books in the world that you could engage in full-time virtual reading for a week or two if that's your idea of fun.
Is there a console command to move your character incase you get stuck in a crevice or something. I don't even know how it happened. I was raiding a bandits body and then I find myself stuck behind some wooden planks leaning against a wall. I wish I could just knock them down, but no luck. I wish I had an intervention scroll.
As lost_elephant said, in the past games, bow and arrows weren't that great. I very rarely used them, and probably won't in Oblivion. Like lost_elephant also said, you may just have to find ways to constantly attack people with arrows in order to increase the skill. I guess another thing you could do is buy/make/find a potion or enchant an item (or buy/find an enchanted item) that will temporarily/permanently raise your marksmen skills, or enchant you bow and/or arrows (or buy/find them) to do extra damage. Perhaps when you get something like a daedric (assuming this material is in Oblivion) long bow and some daedric arrows (if there are any...maybe something more like glass arrows instead), you'll start doing some serious damage (which might also help increase your marksman skill). Other than that, I'd just stick to hand to hand combat, maybe with some long range spells thrown in (via enchantments or actual spells).
I bet it has something to do with us playing as Warriors as they're just poor thieves in nature, unlike the elves,thiefs,mages,archers...etc, which makes sense and thats why you have to choose wisely of what kind of character you want. Anyhow, I wanted to ask...how do you make a lot of money and how much do you have? I'm like 4 hrs in and have only gotten 20gil and most of them I stole or kill some enemies for just a couple and not all carry them. I'm looking at these prices weapon/armor and they're redicoulsy high(300-500gil) relative to what I have. Is it just b/c I'm not I'm not playing long enough? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Oh yea, if you want to join the fighters guild, just go to far west to Anvil and talk to the blk fighter name Azzard in the fighter's guild building and he will ask you to join them. Just make sure you don't have a bounty on your head, or otherwise you need to serve your sentence before you could join.
