I am 28 right now, and I would say the 90s in general. Aside from Smif-n-Wessun and NWA, you had Dre and Cube in the early-to-mid 90s, Tupac and Biggie in the mid 90s, and Reasonable Doubt in 1996.

Also, 1996 is one of the best years for music ever. Ever.

I didn't get into hip hop until about 99. From 2000 to 2003 it was all I listened to. Slim Shady fan boy.

When I went back to the old school, it blew my mind how fresh some of it still was. How some of the beats and some of the lyrics were still ahead of the game 10 years later.

Hip-Hop died with Solja Boy. That was exactly the moment it died. T Payne probably helped too.

High energy, flowing with the wisdom, sense of a rich man, knowledge and the rhythm, this is what I'm using to come up with a style. So I'll interact altogether better with the crowd.

Nervous for a second... then the record starts spinning and I fall into the state of mind of what I'd just created. Pump it like the Dr. D into the R.E. Suckers ready to leap up on the tip when we made it. Creative, so I'll never be regarded as a regular, more than just a little bit better than my competitor KingCheetah.

You should never underestimate the fashion I hold for the stage, whether I'm cooling or thrashing. Clocking the concoction created by me. When read, you read S.W.O = the L.Y. to the D.

Knowledge and the talent that my mother had born to her equals an artist that wont' be worn, what is that Clutchfans? It's the formula.

You could have spent time accumulating your 3000 posts here doing something more constructive.

    As in, your BUSINESS.

    And leave everyone else's alone

I'm not really a big fan of rap- that goes for jazz, reggae, etc.- I like them, but I'm more of a rock and roll guy.

But Nas' Illmatic is one of the greatest albums of all time. I've listened to Pac, big, public enemy, beastie, eric b/rakim, em- all very good for what they do, don't get me wrong. But Illmatic has this sort of vibe- kind of like Coltrane's A Love Supreme or Van Morrison's Astral Weeks- that just puts it in a whole other category for me. The lyrics really blow me away.

Basically anyone that closed out In Living Color. Before I opened this thread I came up w/ a quick list in my head and KC nailed it.

Oh BTW, it just occurred to me. Jim Carey, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Lopez. That's a serious A-list reunion.

And let the beat just keep on rockin'

    And we outta here
    Yo, what happened to peace?
    Peace.

    * thisis from somewhere in the late 80's but I heard it mostly in the 90's. My apologies, ReyChita.
