I see the same thing that happened with orlando when he opted in. He's too loyal and just wanted to test the market. Lakers going last is a sign that he will just give in to the glamour of LA and the lakers history. We shoudn't feel bad after all this because we tried. Move on and try to get another big man.

Ok, you have moved on.....I take that to mean we dont have to read any further posts from you in this thread?

    yeah right....

I highly doubt that the players re-watch games they played except on the DVDs that the Rockets give them to study what they are doing right /wrong. The Rockets have a department that is in charge of editing and compiling videos of their games.

I will make a prediction right now....if the Rockets are successful at getting Howard and are considered real contenders thies year, the CSN stalemate will not make it past the season opener.

This is such a stupid thing to say and echoes what Lance has said on the radio over and over. Dwight's not a winner. He's more of a winner than anyone who has played for the Rockets since 2000. The man has made the playoffs all but 2 years in a 9 year career and has been out of the first round 3 times with 2 Eastern conference finals appearances and 1 NBA finals appearance. He's only been a part of 2 teams with a losing record: his first two years in the league.

His teams have won an average of 46 games a year with 4 straight seasons of 52 or more wins and two of 59 wins. This despite never having a great player next to him.

Let's point out here that the Rockets team record for wins is 58 from the 93-94 season.

There is nothing to suggest he is not a winner.

This palmer guy sounds like a pretty bad LA homer. Not interested in his opinion anymore.

I've gone back and forth from being optimistic and pessimistic a thousand times in this process (from last year).

I'm leaning towards the pessimistic side right now and not bc of this Palmer clown.

I will not be too disappointed. We will be left with our young core, superstar in Harden, and a good amount of cap room.

Not a big blow to us like last year when we desperately needed a star.

You are confused on why folks who still want to discuss this would take umbrage with you coming in here and telling everyone to quit talking about it because you are convinced it wont happen?

You think it is over, great...move on...just dont presume to tell the rest of us how to feel or what to talk about.

Well at least we had Whataburger and Slim Thug try and help out Maury. If we strike out, there's always next year (I'm so sick of saying this)

    Dave McMenamin

It's not been confirmed that there is a TV show involved. Members of TWC SportsNet are expected to be a part of the meeting. They could be saying these are our coverage plans. Here's how we...you're going to be in so many households across the area and that will add to your marketing appeal, etc. If they were to actually give him a reality TV show or something, that could fall under extra compensation and lead to some trouble for both the Lakers and TWC.

How much of a factor is D'Antoni in his decision?

It will weigh when it comes to him looking at other coaches manning the sidelines for him. Howard wants more post ups. That's not Mike's style. He doesn't like to do it. Howard wants the ball on the block, stick his butt into his guy and show off his baby hook he developed. That could be a hurdle. Houston has a HOF big man in Kevin McHale. Maybe he'll say he understands what it's like to be me and he'll give me opportunities to exceed expectations down low.

    Is Houston the biggest threat?

Absolutely. I don't think Golden State is likely because it needs to be a sign and trade. Atlanta, for a long time, it never seemed they were at the top of the list but out of respect for them being his hometown team, he met with them. Dallas, they don't have the same things Houston can offer in terms of personnel. Obviously they have Dirk and one of the top five coaches in Carlisle but outside of that, there is not much to work with. The Lakers, they can offer more money and a championship tradition. The Rockets have the coach who can speak to Howard. On top of it, a young superstar in James Harden, the trump card, that makes me believe it's a neck and neck race between LA and Houston.

Kobe - positive or negative role in chances the Lakers bring him back?

It's Kobe's intention to get Dwight back. Kobe has better chances winning another ring with Dwight than without Dwight. The alternative is next year, you lower your expectations, get everybody off the books and hope you swing for the fences and hit with a Paul George, LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony. You don't know though. If you get Howard, you get a top ten player who is now healthy. That will give him a chance. Kobe will do everything he can to make sure Dwight is back.

Do you think he'll be back in a Lakers uniform?

It's really a toss up. I think only Dwight knows the answer. If I was to narrow down the field, I'd say Houston and LA and I'd be surprised if it wasn't one of those teams.

Kinda crazy how so many people on here jump off a cliff at the slightest hint of anything bad.

I mean, I could probably create a new twitter, have 0 followers, and my only tweet be something about my sources saying L.A. is in the lead for Dwight, and people would react negatively to it.

Surprised this hasn't sparked some speculation around here. Anyone else think the Lakers had the Celtics ask? Obviously we aren't connected insiders, but if this is true those in Dwight's camp have to have gotten wind of this...if so, not good for his prospects on resigning with LA. Purely speculation on my part...anyone else agree?

It's not necessarily about the tweets etc that has my gut feeling as negative.

It's Dwight. I want to believe that he will make a decision based solely on basketball. I'm not completely convinced of this.

It's funny to see all the Chicken Littles in this thread, hanging and clinging to every word any two-bit hack on Twitter posts about the situation.

Chris Palmer is THE WORST. <- that's the comment I post on any ESPN article (5 on 5 or whatever) I see him in.

    BECAUSE HE IS THE WORST.

HUGE L.A. Troll. He's Skip Bayless-ish. He'll post random "Top 5 All Time" with random players just to piss people off.

    Ignore him. Please.
