If Australia had won, Lithuania would have lost and then it would have just been sucked in Australia and well done Lithuania.

Will they beat Turkey or Lithuania? who knows, the only certainty of that half is they will lose to the USA.

One of the plays Lithuania runs for D-Mo:

Possibly something the Rockets might consider putting in their playbook. Obviously got the bigs to run it and have been running "Iverson" (or as the Rockets call it, "Loop" wrinkles [a guy making a flat line cut across the free-throw line]) since McHale took over as the head coach.

I may upload a few more Lithuanian plays if I can find some time. Possible some KPap-Greece offense, too.

Really lost some respect for Goran after this play...

Goran has always been a choker, he basically cost us the playoffs, and was similar for Phoenix this year. He does a lot of things great, money time isn't one of them (he was awful all year for them in the clutch, Bledsoe was really good though).

Perfect description, a lesser Parsons. Would be a good add to the Rockets for our second unit that currently lacks creators, passing is what Ingles does best.

I like the play, but that is an international play only, because he was in lane forever. Hard to run a play like that for a low post guy.

The Lithuanian guards are so sloppy.

Dmo played 6min in the first. Very active early and often, he made smart cuts to the hoop and played good team defense by rotating well and contesting without fouling. He also made himself available at the three point line, but missed. No high post offense as the Lithuanian guards are doing a solid job of creating off the drive.

Minor negative, he continues to have trouble boxing out bigs, but is helped by JV.

He has typically played about 8min in the first, so I expect him to come back early in the 2nd once JV and twin A go to the bench.

Fun action between the twin towers where JV screens DMo's man and he flashes to the hoop, posts up a smaller player and makes a quick move to get a lay up. DMo is also the primary big that used in pick and rolls, but is almost always doubled as NZL forces the LTU guards to make the floater/create. He had an opportunity to get a putback off one if these plays, but was coming in too fast and out of control.

DMo sits again playing a total of about 4min in the 2nd quarter. Looks like the coach wants to keep his guys fresh and keep the defensive pressure up.
    -------------

Halftime, DMo with a solid half 6/6/1stl on 2/4 shooting. JV leads all scorers with 10/9/2blks

DMo shows flashes of being a decent defender next to a guy like Dwight, but his inability to box out is damn near comical.

Also, It's worth noting that while DMo has good footwork on offense and moves with purpose, his shot can seem out of control and eratic. Basically LTU is not going to DMo in the post during crunchtime; that honor goes to JV.

DMo and JV back in with 7min to go after the twins crap the bed.

DMo promptly fails to make a defensive rotation and gives up the trey, NZL up by 1
    ------------

Alertly picks up loose ball at half court, recognizes the 2 on 1 advantage, takes it himself and is fouled on the fastbreak dunk attempt. Makes both freebies as well. Very nice, but JV is the real reason why LTU is in control.

Just made some clutch free throws to put Lithuania up 4 with less than 2 minutes left.

2 good defensive plays by Motie to help seal the game for Lithuania.

Its been noted time and time and time again by our coaches

    We don't run plays

We will run situational pick and roll/pick and roll variations but we dont have 'set' plays

    DO you even Rockets fan?

Notable that one was on the perimeter.

Looks like he'll finish with 8/8/2stls through 21min.

Solid game, LTU will play winner of TUR/AUS

Jonas with DMo is proving to be effective.

DMo's Rockets experience guarding the pnr is being put to good use.
