No. Unless you think having a right-handed Italian from New Jersey playing Shoeless Joe Jackson was perfect. God, between the accent and batting right handed that like to drove me nuts. Except for American Express commercials. I hear Whataburger is trying to get him for a concept piece where he whacks the two assbandits they have in their current commercials.
The scenes are on the 2nd disc. They weren't incorporated back into the film. Which is fine, since I'm a purist and prefer having the original cut. I'm sick of Michael Mann hacking away at his movies on DVD(i.e. Manhunter, The Last of the Mohicans). The real problem with the new Heat 2-disc SE is that it recycles the same mediocre transfer they used on the original DVD 5 years ago. With HD-DVD right around the corner, it's hard to justify double-dipping when there's no video or audio improvement.
I use to compare DeNiro and Pacino, but Pacino's dropped way off. In his most recent roles he always seems to be talk-yelling ... almost makes you blink cause it seems like he's gonna uncontrollably spit in your eye... very annoying. DeNiro 'becomes' his characters .. he's unreal.
Nope, but the reviews are all over the net. Some even show screengrabs that confirm the transfers are identical. Hell, in some of the pics, it looks like the old transfer's actually better than the new one.
